00:00 On Friday, Judith Ranaan, 59 years old, and her 17-year-old daughter, Nathalie, recently
00:09 released by Hamas after being abducted near Gaza, were reunited with the family in Israel.
00:14 This marks the first confirmed release of captives by both sides since the recent escalation
00:19 in Arab-Israeli conflicts.
00:22 The emotional reunion took place at the Gaza Strip border, bringing relief to the family
00:26 and signaling a development in the ongoing tensions in the region.
00:31 About an hour ago, two American citizens held by Hamas since October 7th were released.
00:39 These two Americans are now safely in the hands of Israeli authorities in Israel.
00:44 We expect a team from the U.S. Embassy to see them very shortly.
00:48 Over the coming hours, they'll receive any support and assistance they need, and of course,
00:54 we're very anxious to be able to reunite them with their loved ones.
00:57 We welcome their release.
00:59 We share in the relief that their families, friends, and loved ones are feeling.
01:05 But there are still 10 additional Americans who remain unaccounted for in this conflict.
01:11 We know that some of them are being held hostage by Hamas, along with an estimated 200 other
01:16 hostages held in Gaza.
01:20 They include men, women, young boys, young girls, elderly people from many nations.
01:31 Every single one of them should be released.
01:35 Since the earliest hours of this crisis, the President has made clear that he will do everything
01:40 possible to secure the release of every hostage.
01:44 During my own recent travel to the region, I emphasized the urgency and importance of
01:48 this to the United States and pressed our partners to do everything they can to help
01:53 us secure the release.
01:55 Friday night itself, the New Yorkers gathered in Times Square, standing in solidarity with
01:59 the release of Israeli hostages from Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

02:09 and he signaled an unyielding stance in the Gaza conflict following the release of the
02:14 U.S. hostages.
02:15 Netanyahu also emphasized the ongoing effort to recover all abducted individuals.
02:21 As Israel positions tanks and troops near Gaza's perimeter for a potential ground invasion,
02:26 the toll on Palestinian lives is alarming.
02:29 The bombardment has claimed over 4,100 lives, including hundreds of children, with more
02:35 than a million displaced.
02:37 Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Galant acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating objectives included
02:43 toppling Hamas, destroying its infrastructure, and reshaping the security situation.
02:49 The phased approach, while acknowledging the difficulty and associated costs, aims for
02:53 a long-term transformation of security dynamics in the region, despite the release of these
02:58 hostages.
02:59 Meanwhile, through the Qatari mediation, violence persists.
