With recent political development in poll bound Madhya Pradesh, it looks like INDIA alliance is having a tough fight over seat-sharing. INDIA alliance member, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday expressed his unhappiness over the Congress party for not allocating any seat to his party despite talks on seat-sharing in Madhya Pradesh. He has also suggested that Congress could get the same treatment from his party in Uttar Pradesh.
Akhilesh Yadav said that his party wouldn’t have answered calls from the Congress for a meeting in Madhya Pradesh, had he known that the INDIA alliance was confined to national level only. He further expressed that he must have got confused.
Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President hits back at Samajwadi Party by saying that Akhilesh Yadav cannot blame the Congress as SP had released its list of candidates before his party which was benefiting the BJP.
However, the Samajwadi Party president reiterated that the INDIA alliance should have clarified that there would be no tie-up in the state elections. He further talked about the PDA alliance which was formed much before the INDIA alliance. He said that there is the INDIA alliance but our strategy is PDA, and PDA will defeat NDA.
When the Samajwadi Party chief was asked about the seat-sharing in Madhya Pradesh by the former CM of MP, he shared details of the performance of Samajwadi Party in Madhya Pradesh in which many Samajwadi Party candidates were elected.
The seat-sharing between Congress-SP which was decided among themself during a meeting, where Samajwadi Party was assured of getting six seats. But, Samajwadi Party chief has claimed that Congress declared candidates on all seats, so in compulsion, Samajwadi Party too had to declare candidates from where they were strong.
Akhilesh Yadav said, “I believe that if you were not ready to give any seat you should have not talked to us. But, they didn't give any information to us. So, SP is fighting where we have our presence.""
Further, he stated to the media that, “I am not giving any advice or suggestions to the Congress party but there is a big challenge before the nation. The BJP is a big party. It is a very organised side. So there should be no confusion regarding this in any party. If you fight with confusion you will not win any election.”
Akhilesh’s anger towards Congress doesn’t end here. He also took on the Congress party over its recent support for the Caste based census. And said that, ""It is the same Congress party that did not give the numbers of the caste census earlier. Now everyone knows that until and unless you don't have the support of the backward castes and tribes, you won't succeed.”
