Slovenia to introduce border checks with Hungary and Croatia
The Slovenian government has said the checks should last for at least 10 days.

00:12 Slovenia`s government says the checks are necessary to prevent terrorism and organized
00:16 crime and comes amid recent Islamist attacks in Western Europe and the Israel-Hamas war.
00:22 "The check on these border crossings is carried out on purpose, which means that it is aimed
00:30 at discovering individuals who could pose or represent a threat to public order and
00:39 could carry out terrorist attacks on the Republic of Slovenia."
00:44 Under the European Union`s Schengen rules, member states like Slovenia or Italy can temporarily
00:49 reintroduce border controls if internal security or public policy are at risk.
00:54 Denmark and Sweden are also expected to introduce similar restrictions.
