00:00 We're gonna be looking at the most toxic things that Jada said about her marriage to
00:09 Will Smith.
00:11 First up, back in 2019, Jada admitted that she never really wanted to get married, but
00:17 her mother, as well as Will's desire for a family, influenced her decision.
00:30 Some fans have long considered their relationship to be extremely toxic and say that Jada is
00:36 manipulative.
00:39 As well as that whole Oscars incident where Will confronted Chris Rock on stage over a
00:44 joke.
00:45 Jada added fuel to this perception, and fans started to speculate that Jada's reaction
00:51 might have influenced Will's response to Chris Rock.
00:54 He initially seemed fine with the joke, but became really serious after he saw Jada's
00:59 face.
01:00 Also, when questioned about the Oscars incident, Jada didn't want Will to defend her in the
01:06 whole altercation with Chris Rock and said that she didn't need Will's protection.
01:11 Jada spoke through an insider to relay this message, and this is what the insider shared.
01:16 "She's not one of these women that needs protecting.
01:20 He didn't need to do what he did.
01:22 She didn't need protecting.
01:23 She's not a wallflower.
01:24 She's a strong woman, an opinionated woman, and she can fight her own battles, but she
01:30 will stand by him."
01:32 Another thing Jada said was back in an interview with HuffPost Live, and this is what she said.
01:37 "I think that people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another.
01:43 But I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself
01:49 in the mirror and be okay.'"
01:51 And then after that, because of Jada's choice of words, it caused a whole bunch of controversy
01:57 online.
01:58 People are saying, "Okay, you guys are swingers.
01:59 You guys are in open relationship."
02:01 Like, what?
02:03 But Jada had to go on and clarify, and this is what she said about it.
02:07 "Here's how I'll change my statement.
02:10 Will and I both can do whatever we want because we trust each other to do so.
02:15 This does not mean we have an open relationship.
02:19 This means we have a grown one."
02:21 I guess if that's what "do whatever you want" means.
02:25 Jada has also revealed that she and Will Smith have been separated for many years.
02:30 "From the year 2016, we live separately."
02:34 As she sat down with Hoda Kotb for an interview, Jada said that she and Will have been living
02:40 completely separate lives for 7 years.
02:44 And although they did not file for divorce, Jada clarified and said, "Yes, it was not
02:49 a divorce on paper, but it was a divorce."
02:52 "It was not a divorce on paper, but it was a divorce."
02:59 And back in 2020, according to Jada, she met the singer August Alsina 4 and a half years
03:05 before she and Will decided to split.
03:08 And on Jada's Red Table Talk show on Facebook, Will Smith had said this, "We decided that
03:15 we were going to separate for a period of time.
03:18 I really felt like we could be over."
03:21 Then Jada, in her response, is what she said to Will, "No, we were over."
03:25 And that led to what Jada referred to as a different kind of entanglement with August
03:31 Alsina.
03:32 "I got into an entanglement with August, that's what I said."
03:36 And she says that it was in fact a relationship, in reference to the romance that she had with
03:41 August Alsina.
03:43 So were they not over or were they completely over?
03:45 You know, signals are being crossed there.
03:48 Jada was clear it was over, so clearly she has a different view of their relationship
03:52 than Will has.
03:54 Going back to that Oscar slap incident with Chris Rock, Jada and Will were not calling
04:00 each other husband and wife during that time.
04:03 And Jada said this in her own words, "I'm really shocked.
04:07 We haven't called each other husband and wife in a long time."
04:11 Then after realizing that Will Smith actually slapped Chris Rock, this is what Jada says,
04:16 "I was like, 'I'm riding with you.
04:19 I didn't come into this place as your wife, but I'm leaving here as your wife because
04:25 we got a storm we're gonna have to deal with together.
04:29 I'm not gonna leave your side.'"
04:31 So guys, although this incident did reaffirm their marriage, this left people confused
04:35 because it's as if Jada's turning on and off, accepting the label of wife whenever
04:40 it's convenient for preserving her public image.
04:44 She also said that after the Oscars, they really started to do some deeper work in their
04:50 marriage.
04:51 Jada Pinkett Smith had also discussed her deep connection with the late rapper Tupac
05:01 Shakur in an interview with Rolling Out.
05:04 And when asked about Tupac being her soulmate, she agreed with that.
05:09 She in fact was, and she talked about their strong bond that they shared together.
05:14 She also went on to say this, "If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely
05:20 think that Pac and I have traveled a few together."
05:24 But she did go on to clarify that they didn't have any sort of romantic chemistry after
05:30 they actually kissed once.
05:32 And Jada said that the chemistry that anyone saw between them, that was actually a more
05:38 friendship love type of chemistry.
05:40 But to many people, that sounds like a nice way of covering up how she actually felt for
05:45 him.
05:46 And the question being asked is, if Tupac were still alive today, would that friendship
05:51 chemistry ever turn into something romantic?
05:55 And her and Tupac being soulmates, then what does that make will to her?
06:01 Alright guys, so that was a look at some of the most toxic things that Jada has said about
06:05 Will Smith and their relationship.
