00:02 But the most wonderful thing about Tigger is I'm the only one.
00:05 I'm the only one."
00:07 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 greatest songs
00:12 from old and classic Disney movies.
00:14 "He gets us big, gets us big, gets us small.
00:16 Crass, ten-headed, jet-powered, and hunky."
00:18 For this list, we'll be looking at the best tracks featured in Disney films that were
00:22 released pre-Renaissance, meaning before 1989.
00:25 We're excluding tunes from live-action flicks, though, as those deserve their own list.
00:30 Which classic Disney song makes your dreams come true?
00:33 Let us know in the comments.

00:41 All in the Golden Afternoon, Alice in Wonderland
00:43 "We shall sing Golden Afternoon.
00:47 That's about all of us."
00:48 As far as Disney flicks go, Alice in Wonderland is one of the wonderfully quirkiest.
00:53 Naturally, its musical stylings reflect that.
00:56 In a World of My Own provides a glimpse into Alice's imagination before her adventure
01:00 even really begins.
01:01 "In a world of my own, all the flowers would have very extra special powers."
01:13 And who could forget the White Rabbit's "I'm Late"?
01:15 "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date.
01:18 No time to say hello, goodbye.
01:19 I'm late, I'm late, I'm late."
01:21 And no number gets us humming more than All in the Golden Afternoon.
01:25 Sung primarily by the flowers of Wonderland, it's as melodic a tune as they come.
01:29 The instrumentation is irresistible, while the chorus of voices is nothing short of gorgeous.
01:35 Even Alice can't help but join in.
01:36 "You can learn a lot of things from the flowers.
01:37 Especially in the month of June."
01:47 Who knew flowers could sound so good?
01:49 We can learn a lot of things from them, indeed.
01:52 Number 9.
01:53 Everybody Wants to Be a Cat - The Aristocats First, we have to thank the Aristocats for
01:58 reminding us how important our scales and arpeggios are.
02:01 "The music ringing from your chest and not your nose, while you sing your scales and
02:08 your arpeggios."
02:11 But as catchy as that tune is, nothing quite compares to Everybody Wants to Be a Cat.
02:15 We've been hooked on that snazzy feline beat since we first heard it.
02:19 And you won't hear us complaining about it.
02:21 "Oh, a rinky-dinky-kinky.
02:22 Everybody wants to be a cat.
02:23 Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at."
02:30 Thomas O'Malley, Scat Cat, and company go all out for this one.
02:35 And it's a party.
02:36 There's offensive elements, and they can't be excused.
02:39 But if you cut those out, there's lots to enjoy.
02:42 Even if you're not the biggest cat person around, there's no denying this song has style.
02:47 After all, a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at.
02:52 "Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a cat."

02:59 Why Should I Worry, Oliver and Company
03:09 What do you get when you combine an animal, New York City-based reimagining of Oliver
03:13 Twist and the talents of one Billy Joel?
03:16 The answer is a banger, of course.
03:18 The 1988 flick sees Joel as Dodger, a dog who's cooler than cool.
03:22 And he really gets our attention with "Why Should I Worry."
03:25 "Why should I worry?
03:26 Why should I care?
03:27 I may not have a dime, but I got three cents on my pail."
03:35 He's so self-assured in his delivery, and the dynamic energy running through his vocals
03:40 and the beat itself is infectious.
03:42 Plus, while spotlighting his chill persona, the song makes those of us listening forget
03:47 our own worries for a while, too.
03:52 "Why should I worry?
03:56 Why should I care?
03:59 Yes, just a new population, like a street savoir faire."
04:00 By the end, there's zero doubt in our minds that Dodger is street-smart with New York
04:04 City heart and oodles of street savoir faire.
04:07 7.
04:08 Baby Mine, Dumbo
04:10 There are some songs that make you tear up the second they start playing.
04:13 "Baby Mine" is without question one of them.
04:16 We can't stand seeing Mrs. Jumbo locked up.
04:19 Yet when her struggling son Dumbo comes to visit her, she focuses all her attention on
04:23 him while we hear this hauntingly beautiful lullaby.
04:29 "Baby mine, don't you cry."
04:34 She's putting her own pain aside to comfort her little one, and it never fails to tug
04:38 at our heartstrings.
04:39 Mother and child find solace in each other, and we too find solace in the unconditional
04:44 love that seeps through the ballad.
04:46 "Let those eyes sparkle and shine, never a tear, baby of mine."
04:56 Plus, the way Betty Noyce's gorgeous voice takes over the scene is like the biggest hug.
05:02 We'd even say it's precious to us.
05:09 "Baby mine, baby mine."
05:23 6.
05:25 Hi Ho, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
05:27 Luckily for us, Disney's very first animated feature film doesn't skimp on the music.
05:42 Snow White has us whistling while we work, and listening attentively as she sings about
05:46 love in truly beautiful fashion.
06:00 But we'd like to take this opportunity to focus on Doc, Grumpy, and the rest of the
06:04 crew because they deliver one of the catchiest tunes we know.
06:07 In the movie, they sing about doing their thing in the mines, going home after a long
06:12 day, and later even heading off to work.
06:23 And we always find ourselves jamming like nobody's watching.
06:26 As a bonus, Hi Ho doubles as the perfect anthem to blast at your own job, be it quitting or
06:31 starting time.
06:42 5.
06:44 Cruella De Vil, 101 Dalmatians
06:47 If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will.
06:50 Cruella De Vil is one of the most preposterous Disney villains out there.
06:53 Seriously, who goes after pups?
07:01 So it's only right that there be a tune that captures exactly how vile she is.
07:08 The one Roger Ratcliffe comes up with is as fun and clever as she is horrible.
07:13 The punchy melody and lyrics combine, giving us chills while also inspiring some laughs.
07:26 The fact that Roger initially performs it as Cruella is arriving at the Ratcliffe residence,
07:31 before we learn the extent of her cruelty, just adds to the impact.
07:35 After she leaves, we can't join him in singing fast enough.
07:38 We totally get why the track becomes super popular by the movie's end.
07:49 4.
07:54 Once Upon a Dream, Sleeping Beauty
07:56 The notion that you could come across someone and feel as though you know them from your
08:00 dreams is deeply romantic.
08:02 Once Upon a Dream brings that heavenly sense to life musically, making for an enchanting
08:07 listening experience.
08:14 Indeed, the ballad is so rich, and the lyrics about a gleam in one's eyes and visions fill
08:24 our hearts with love and wonder.
08:26 We never tire of watching Aurora and Prince Philip duet it, or dance as a chorus vocalizes
08:31 off-screen.
08:32 Granted, their woodsy encounter isn't their first meeting, but she was a baby the other
08:46 time, so it may as well be.
08:48 We couldn't think of a better song to accompany such a momentous occasion, or to open and
08:53 close out the movie.

09:03 The Bear Necessities, The Jungle Book
09:05 Have you ever wondered what being a bear might be like?
09:08 Whether your answer to that question is yes or no, you'll surely love hearing the answer
09:12 laid out in The Bear Necessities.
09:26 With his snazzy rendition, Baloo reminds us that we need to forget about our worries and
09:30 our strife, because the bear necessities of life will come to us, and we love when Mowgli
09:35 eventually lends his voice to the performance and adopts the philosophy, too.
09:48 The whole thing is an upbeat, energetic, easygoing banger.
09:52 We just wish it lasted longer.
09:54 Thankfully, there are plenty of other tracks from The Jungle Book to keep us entertained
09:57 once this one ends.
10:07 Trust in Us, it's a stellar soundtrack.

10:20 A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Cinderella
10:23 Disney flicks have a magical ability to make us believe that no matter how our hearts are
10:27 grieving, things will get better if we keep on believing in our dreams.
10:31 That's exactly what Cinderella accomplishes with A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.
10:40 As she sings about the importance of keeping the faith early on in the film, we feel like
10:51 she's speaking straight to us, and that's saying nothing of Eileen Woods' delivery,
10:56 which is downright breathtaking.
11:09 The way the fairy tale plays out only bolsters the gentle tune's uplifting message, cementing
11:13 it as an all-time classic.
11:16 Since we're talking about Cinderella, though, allow us to also shout out the fairy godmother,
11:20 who gives us a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Bop.
11:32 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
11:36 Bella Notte, Lady and the Tramp, the perfect Disney date night tune.
11:50 You Can Fly, Peter Pan.
11:52 Listening to this feels like flying.
11:55 Oodalally, Robin Hood.
11:59 Golly, what a snappy number.
12:08 Someone's Waiting for You, The Rescuers.
12:22 Someone's Waiting for You, The Rescuers.
12:38 The world's greatest criminal mind, The Great Mouse Detective.
12:41 Oh, Rattigan, you terrify us with this song.

13:11 When You Wish Upon a Star, Pinocchio.
13:13 Get yourself a conscience that can guide you through life and croon out one of the most
13:17 inspirational film songs around.
13:19 Jiminy Cricket has range, first showing off his endless musical talent with When You Wish
13:24 Upon a Star.
13:25 We aren't exaggerating when we say Cliff Edwards' commanding voice stops us dead in our tracks.
13:36 Of course, there's also Ned Washington's lyrics and Lee Harline's music, which warm our hearts.
13:46 It all blends seamlessly, creating an enduring masterpiece.
13:50 Now Pinocchio is filled with captivating numbers like I've Got No Strings.
14:05 And nothing quite compares to the fuzzy feeling we get when we hear Jiminy assure us that
14:10 when we wish upon a star, our dreams come true.
