00:00 The Ravens pumped the brakes on that Lions contender talk.
00:03 I'm Robert Lundberg here with Dakota London.
00:05 Dakota, Baltimore just totally destroys Detroit.
00:09 Did Lamar Jackson and company expose the Lions?
00:11 Exposed? I don't know if exposed is the right word because exposed comes with expectations.
00:17 I think that's the bigger issue is that the Lions fell into the land of expectations.
00:22 After the Eagles lost, after San Fran lost, everybody was looking at like,
00:25 "Oh, are the Lions now the best team in the NFC?"
00:27 And yeah, they're not.
00:29 And they got absolutely trashed.
00:32 And I feel like when you're playing like where nobody's expecting you to be that good,
00:38 or you're just like a sleeper team, everything was good for the Lions.
00:42 But as soon as people started expecting to perform at a high level, they showed their true colors.
00:47 Now, I don't think the Ravens are that much better than Detroit,
00:51 but it just shows when you're playing with expectations, it's just another level.
00:55 And that's why you got teams like Philly and San Fran that are the class of the NFC.
00:59 Because they play with expectations every week.
01:01 Well, Lamar Jackson is on another level.
01:04 Like when you look at the quarterbacks in this game,
01:06 there's a big gap between Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff, despite the fact that Goff has played well.
01:11 And in some ways, I think Lamar has become maybe the most underrated player in the league
01:15 in the sense that he's nitpicked all the time.
01:17 People question his contract.
01:19 When it comes to just pure individual impact on the field,
01:23 he's up there amongst the best players in the entire league, a former and maybe future MVP,
01:28 and absolutely a top five quarterback.
01:30 So I think the first thing it did was remind everybody who Lamar Jackson is,
01:34 and that the Ravens themselves are true contenders.
01:38 When it comes to the Lions front, I never totally bought into the hype.
01:41 They're a cute little team, as you mentioned,
01:43 but they hadn't really beaten anybody coming into this.
01:46 And their win over the Chiefs was the least impressive big win I've ever seen.
01:51 Shout out to to Kedarious Tony's drops in that one.
01:55 Yeah, I think the future for Detroit is promising.
02:00 But as you said about Lamar, Lamar's great.
02:03 I think he's elevated to the point where his success in a regular season means nothing.
02:07 It's more about what is he going to do in the postseason.
02:09 And that's a great place to be in, but it's good to always be reminded
02:13 of just how great he can be.
