00:00 Gaza's medical professionals are on the front line in the war between Israel and Hamas.
00:05 On top of the relentless bombing, they have to cope with power cuts and severe shortages
00:09 of medical supplies.
00:11 One emergency room doctor told Euronews correspondent Nibal Hajjo about his harrowing experiences.
00:17 "Every day we are facing more difficult situations than before.
00:22 Most of the cases are children, first grade, then women.
00:30 All of them are difficult.
00:33 I work in the intensive care unit here in the emergency room.
00:38 Most of the cases are difficult, close to death.
00:45 Children are left with no children, their bodies are full of scars.
00:53 Unfortunately, there is no energy to feed them.
00:56 We have reached a point where we have to choose who to live with and who to die with."
01:03 Medical staff also live in constant fear for their loved ones, who could be among the victims
01:08 at any time.
01:10 "Sometimes, the response of other parties is delayed.
01:18 If there is a bombing, it is delayed.
01:23 Sometimes, it is delayed due to the inability to communicate with them."
01:27 "Of course, there is tension.
01:29 Everyone is nervous and afraid that there is someone from the family present in this bombing.
01:34 Some of the doctors found their family members among the wounded.
01:38 This is a feeling that you will not find anyone.
01:41 You will meet someone and find your family members among them.
01:44 This is a very difficult feeling."
01:46 Gaza's hospitals have had to deal with the consequences of airstrikes many times in the past,
01:51 but it have never been so intense, nor without the hope of ending any time soon.
01:57 I'm glad.
