00:00 Thanks Ted.
00:01 Brett, firstly, thank you very much to you,
00:03 to James, the captain on the boat here,
00:04 and to the other residents, just locals.
00:07 They're small business people
00:08 and they're incredibly passionate
00:10 about their local community
00:12 and about this beautiful natural asset
00:14 that produces so much for the local community,
00:17 for tourism, for fishing, obviously.
00:20 And the proposed change to all of that way of life
00:23 is quite profound.
00:24 It's very clear to me, and it's great to be back,
00:28 it's very clear to me that this is fast growing
00:31 into a national scandal.
00:33 The government hasn't done the work.
00:34 They haven't undertaken the environmental impact statements
00:38 that need to be undertaken in any other
00:40 like development onshore.
00:43 We know that, as we saw today,
00:46 pods of dolphins or whales,
00:49 40,000 whales moved through those waters.
00:53 Commercial fishermen, the rock lobster fishermen,
00:56 the tourism here is quite phenomenal.
00:59 And for Chris Bowen and Meryl Swanson
01:02 and Emma McBride and others,
01:05 just to have absolute disregard for the local community,
01:08 I think is a national disgrace.
01:10 And what Chris Bowen is proposing to do here.
