00:00 But he's obviously done a great job.
00:01 Everyone's been.
00:03 >> Spencer Holbrook, Letterman Row.
00:04 >> [INAUDIBLE]
00:14 >> Yeah, it's a little bit of an eye test.
00:18 You just see the focus, you see the energy level.
00:21 You just watch it, the execution, you see it in practice.
00:26 You can't overreact one way or the other.
00:29 You have to continue to be consistent.
00:31 But that was the message that we just had coming off the field.
00:35 I thought it was a solid week of practice.
00:37 But if you wanna be a championship level team, you have to bring it every single
00:40 week.
00:41 And that means battling every week the ability to be consistent.
00:45 Not start to cut corners.
00:48 That's kind of the human element.
00:49 It's like, well, let me see if I can get away with not having this meal or
00:52 going to bed a little bit later.
00:53 Maybe not doing this much film work or whatever those things are.
00:57 And if we wanna get to where we need to be, we have to be consistent.
01:02 And we know this is gonna be a big challenge.
01:04 We know it's gonna be rocking there.
01:06 They're a very good team.
01:07 They're well coached.
01:08 So we have to play our best football.
01:09 And our goal is to play our best football at the end of the season.
01:12 And we've got to show up and play consistent football in a way that
01:16 I think we have this year.
01:18 We have been building, we have been growing.
01:20 But certainly for a championship level team like we expect to be,
01:24 then we gotta play really good football.
01:26 We wanna play our best football inside of that.
01:28 This isn't just like, let's go try to win a game.
01:30 We gotta play our best football that we played all season in all three phases.
01:35 >> Over here, Tim May on three, Letterman Rowe.
01:37 We've got Kenyatta Jackson on the north 20.
01:40 >> Yeah, Ryan, is there a sense right now after this practice that you're going to
01:42 have a full top 10 of players on Saturday?
01:45 And how much does that help with planning for one or another?
01:49 >> Yeah, yeah, I've got a bunch of guys back, which is great.
01:53 When you say full, I mean,
01:54 there's still be some different things here and there.
01:56 But no, it certainly does help.
01:59 And it's hard when you go through a week and you're not quite sure.
02:02 Yeah, because you put things in, you take things out.
02:05 But we feel like we've had a good week of practice.
02:08 We're gonna get some guys back this week, which we feel great about.
02:10 And it has been a solid week of practice coming off the field.
02:13 So the pads are off here.
02:15 Gonna have a great Thursday.
02:16 But yeah, looking forward to getting some guys back in the fold.
02:21 >> Austin Ward rivals the podcast.
02:23 It's like the way you talked about Harvard,
02:26 maybe mostly after the game on Saturday was intentional.
02:29 He was left off some midseason All-American teams.
02:31 I know that you don't necessarily care about him.
02:34 Have you felt like he is not getting the attention outside of what he might deserve?
02:40 >> I don't know what he's getting for attention, honestly.
02:42 I don't because every minute we have, we're trying to grind and work.
02:46 But I just know what I've seen.
02:51 If there's a better player in the country or
02:53 receiver, I mean certainly receiver in the country, I'd like to know who he is.
02:57 And I'm sure there's an argument out there.
02:58 Everyone wants to defend their guys.
02:59 But I don't sit there and usually brag on our players.
03:03 But when you see a guy put the work in that he has and
03:07 produce the way that he has, he deserves to be in the mix for Heisman.
03:11 I just believe that.
03:11 I'm sure people would argue with that, but
03:14 pretty hard to argue with what he's put on the field so far this year.
03:18 So they don't give out awards in week seven or eight.
03:22 They give them out at the end of the year.
03:23 There's a lot of work to be done, but I know he should be in consideration.
03:27 >> Kellyanne Stitz, WSYX.
03:29 >> Just for clarification, did Denzel, Trey, and
03:32 the rest of their practice today?
03:34 >> Yeah, once I start getting into who practice, who doesn't, it's hard for me.
03:39 But those guys have all had good weeks, and
03:42 we're expecting those guys to be available for sure.
03:46 >> Any other questions over here, Cameron T.
03:48 Robinson, The Athletic?
03:49 >> [INAUDIBLE]
03:59 >> Well, we were talking about it coming off the field last Thursday was that when,
04:06 I think I told the story before, but on our way to the spring game,
04:11 his freshman year, he's like, man, I can't wait to go to the game.
04:13 We're on the bus going over.
04:15 I said, what do you mean?
04:15 He said, I've never seen the stadium before.
04:17 And we recruited him, it was during COVID.
04:20 And so these guys didn't play a lot of football.
04:21 He really didn't play much his last couple years.
04:25 So those guys were a little bit behind in their maturation process, but
04:30 he came in right away.
04:31 You could see the athleticism, you could see the ability.
04:34 And he's really embraced what we're doing here.
04:36 And you see him play his best football right now.
04:38 Again, I still think he's got room to grow.
04:40 And he's a big part of our defense and going to be a big part of the next month.
04:44 And we're gonna reach our goals.
04:46 >> And we're gonna have last question, Doug Labry, Kings of Columbus.
04:50 >> Ryan, Camp Randall gets a little nuts there.
04:52 When you're going to a place like that,
04:55 what's the biggest effect potentially on the football?
04:58 Is it just like hearing your calls on offense?
05:00 Is there emotion involved in it?
05:02 How can it affect you?
05:03 >> All of the above.
05:04 And I think when you haven't done it before, it certainly is different.
05:08 We have been in those environments.
05:10 Our guys have been in those environments, but it doesn't mean it's easy.
05:13 It's hard.
05:15 Communicating on offense, you just naturally feel the ebb and
05:20 flows of the game, and that's part of it.
05:23 I think the more you play, the more veteran you are, the less effect it has.
05:27 But it's still always hard to go on the road and win games.
05:31 And this is a place that I haven't played before, but
05:33 I've heard so many people talk about the difficulty that it is.
05:37 And the great fans that are there, and we know it's gonna be that way.
05:41 And that's what makes Big Ten football great.
