00:04 So the justification for why we still insist on importing the original ribbon from some exporters,

00:11 such as Thailand, Vietnam and also Africa, is based on the following.

00:16 First, the need to fulfill domestic requirements,

00:20 especially for the production sector of latex-based ribbons.

00:24 In 2020-2022, the country's production of latex-based ribbons was only 14,593 tonnes,

00:32 while the production sector of ribbon-based products required 365,000 tonnes.

00:39 Second, the need to fulfill the demand for export markets, especially for dry-wrapped ribbons.

00:43 In 2020-2022, the country produced 362,000 tonnes of scrap or cup-lumped ribbons.

00:50 However, the demand for export of dry-wrapped ribbons amounted to almost 1 million tonnes.

00:55 Third, the production sector of the country's original ribbon required 1.5 million tonnes of raw materials

01:04 to continue the operation and remain competitive.

01:07 So the production of latex-based ribbons is lower than the demand from the production sector of ribbon-based products,

01:15 which means that the country still needs to import more ribbon from other exporters.

01:21 For your information, in 2020-2022, the country's production of latex-based ribbons could only cover 4% of domestic use.

01:31 Although the country's production of latex-based ribbons is low,

01:35 the export of latex-based ribbons, such as ribbon gloves, is high,

01:42 with an amount of Rp21.302 billion for 2020-2022, which is 78% of the total export of latex-based products.
