00:00 Mas Ermiyati Samsuddin's victory in the Masjid Tanah parliamentary election in the 15th General Election has been affirmed by the Election Court in Melaka.
00:13 The decision follows the dismissal of a petition by Barisan National candidate Abdul Hakim Abdul Wahid to unseat Mas Ermiyati of Perekatan Nasional by Election Court Judge Abu Bakar Katar.
00:26 According to Mas Ermiyati's lawyer, Faizi J. Abu, the court held that Hakim had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that money was distributed during the campaign period to influence voters to vote for PN.
00:40 Mas Ermiyati won the seat with a 4,411 vote majority against Hakim. The others in the four-cornered contest were Mudas Mutalib Uthman and Pejuang's Handra Wirawan Abu Bakar.
