00:00 Good afternoon Sheffield, it's Afton from the Sheffield Star and I'm speaking to you
00:04 from the Winter Garden where I wanted to come and show off this, this is an E. coli I'm
00:08 told, this is a giant inflatable of an E. coli bacteria that's been put here for a bio
00:12 fest which is being held in the city for the next month or so. This is a festival by the
00:16 University of Sheffield that's bringing together exciting cutting edge bioscience research
00:19 from the University of Sheffield to audiences through a programme of free events, talks,
00:23 exhibitions and films and podcasts, that's the way they put it anyway. This is being
00:27 held between the 1st and the 30th of November, so it's running for the entire month. Exhibitions
00:31 like this will be around for the whole month but some of it will only be on for a single day.
00:35 I can think of Firth Hall on the November 14th through 15th, there'll be an exhibition of
00:39 microcosms they're calling it, they're like tiny single cell organisms made out of glass that you
00:45 can go and sort of see and there'll also be another sort of similar exhibition being held
00:48 at the Millennium Gallery here but this is a pretty arresting piece they've put in the city
00:52 centre for us all to see and it'll be around for the next month or so. Other things on the
00:56 other topics of the discussion include climate change, they've got food security, healthy ageing,
01:00 anti-microbial resistance and biodiversity are the top topics of this particular festival
01:06 they're holding but if you have any questions that's what's happening here today and it'll
01:09 be around for the next month.
