Drag racer Bert Jackson lost his life in an accident that happened on Friday, 09 September 2011, while competing in a ADRL-American Drag Racing League meeting at Rockingham Dragway, North Carolina, United States.

His full name was Lionel Bert Jackson, but everyone knew him as "Bert" Jackson. He was driving a 2007 Pontiac GTO owned by Enoch Love of Richmond, Virginia, United States. The car went out of control during the Extreme Pro Stock class third qualifying session of the ADRL’s Dragstock VIII at Rockingham. The vehicle hit the right wall, careened across the track crashing into the left guardrail and then barrel-rolled. Seriously injured, Bert Jackson was rushed to the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital - Richmond in Rockingham, where he was pronounced dead shortly after admission.
