02:45 - Some courses offered by the Department of Chinese Studies
03:07 of the University of Malaya are taught in Basel, Malaya,
03:11 opening them to students
03:14 from different ethnic backgrounds.
03:16 This initiative helps strengthening
03:20 the exchange and understanding
03:23 between different cultures in the country.
03:27 Over these decades, our department has nurtured
03:31 more than 4,000 of trilingual talents,
03:35 individuals proficient in all the three languages,
03:40 namely Basel Malayu, English language, and Chinese language,
03:45 who have actively contributed to our nation's politics,
03:50 economy, culture, and education,
03:54 becoming a key force in nation building.
03:57 At this very moment, we should reflect
