00:44 On our trip to one of the oldest cemeteries in the Philippines,
00:48 Manila North Cemetery,
00:49 where the graves of the former president, Ramon Magsaysay,
00:54 Serio Osmeña, Manuel Rojas, and the one and only King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Po Jr.
01:01 are buried, along with his cousin, Susan Roses,
01:05 who is also considered the Queen of Philippine Movies, and many others.
01:08 We met two different people, but they share the same path that they walk every day.
01:15 And they are Brother Adolfo and Brother Renato.

01:22 He is Brother Renato, a mommy vendor and a caretaker of the Mosileo,
01:27 who are well-known people.

01:30 According to him, he inherited this job from his poor parents,
01:35 who were also caretakers.
01:37 We also asked him what his difficulties are as a cleaner of the cemetery.

01:43 It's very hard, especially when it rains.
01:45 There are many branches and everything is slippery.
01:51 It's very hard to clean the leaves.
01:54 Sometimes, it's hard to pay for the cleaning.
02:03 We just wait for the payment.
02:08 Is it hard to clean the cemetery of someone who is not sure if he will be paid or not?
02:14 According to him, he is happy with what he does because it reminds him of his poor parents.

02:26 We also met Brother Adolfo.
02:28 He has been a grave digger and a painter for 43 years in Manila North Cemetery.

02:37 According to him, his wife was the reason why he went to this job
02:42 because of his parents who influenced him to become a caretaker.
02:47 He paints from 5 to 10 nits every time the rain is about to fall.
02:52 Is that enough for his income?
02:55 My children only go to school after high school.
02:58 You can't finish your life just because of this.
03:04 It's enough for food and savings, but you can't finish your studies.
03:12 You can only finish it until high school.
03:14 Although Brother Adolfo and Brother Renato's story is different
