Malaysia must honour its commitment to supply water from Johor to Singapore, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said in a joint press conference with his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong on Monday (Oct 30) that both countries should not focus purely on the price mechanism but instead look at the possibility of Singapore joining in efforts to ensure Johor will be able to enhance its capacity, through the Johor river.

00:00 Our position is clear that we have to honour the commitment and supply water from Johor to Singapore.
00:09 And to that end, we will have to work jointly to ensure that Johor would be able to enhance the capacity
00:22 to Johor River to supply both for Johor needs, which is also expanding,
00:28 and for Singapore.
00:31 And I think instead of focusing purely on price mechanism,
00:36 we should also look at the possibility of Singapore participating in a joint effort,
00:44 both in terms of study, which can be conducted immediately,
00:47 and also in terms of management of Johor River, particularly with Johor State.
00:56 Thank you.
