Comelec reports conduct of #BSKE2023 generally peaceful despite incidents of violence in other areas

00:12 delays, complaints and shootings, mostly in the BARMM and a high overall turnout of between

00:19 70 to 80 percent which comes as no surprise.

00:30 Several shooting incidents, promotions and conflicts between watchers were reported today

00:35 during the elections.

00:37 According to Comelec, most of these events were from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region

00:41 for Muslim Mindanao or BARMM.

00:43 But despite this reports, the polls was still presumed generally peaceful considering there

00:48 were no reported failure of election and the incidents were minimal compared to the statistics

00:54 from the previous elections.

01:12 But those incident is not enough to stop holding the election.

01:26 Comelec also commended the police for showing maximum tolerance and handling troublesome

01:31 or crisis situations.

01:33 They confirmed that the suspects behind the reported incidents are now detained or subjected

01:37 for inquest.

01:38 However, they admitted these incidents were unexpected considering that the reports were

01:44 not from the 365 areas under red category but only on areas under yellow category.

01:51 Meanwhile, aside from incidents in voting precincts, the Department of Education also

01:56 received five reports on separate incidents involving teachers.

02:00 The cases are an alleged death of a teacher due to a vehicular accident, a snake bite

02:06 and incidents of being barred to enter voting precincts.

02:09 The Deped assures these reports are under evaluation and necessary action has been made.

02:46 the issue of vote buying, Comelec's committee on contrabigay stressed this year's BSKE

02:52 was clean with no verified reports yet of vote buying compared to the previous elections.
