00:00 It'll mean the world to a lot of people in Molong.
00:04 It's a hub.
00:05 It's where people come, as Yvonne said,
00:08 we do a lot of funerals, wakes, we have parties,
00:11 we have bowls events.
00:13 It's just that's a lot of stuff that the club's missed out on
00:16 over the last 12 months.
00:17 And it's gonna be fantastic just,
00:20 hopefully in six months time for that all to be back.
00:22 - Are you still functioning from your new job?
00:26 - No, I'm coming right to go.
00:29 - Like the insurance company said,
00:30 you can use this area.
00:32 - Yep.
00:33 - But that's it.
00:35 - Going to the local?
00:36 - Yeah, going to the local.
00:38 - The members decided with a vote of 42 to 20
00:43 to stay where we are.
00:44 Location, location, location, I think,
00:48 was the thing that kept the people
00:51 that wanted to keep the bar low here.
00:53 It was, yeah, it was talked about quite in depth
00:57 for quite a long while.
00:58 And it was, caused a lot of grief with a lot of people,
01:02 but the members voted and we're here to stay.
01:06 - Votes are officially in, this is home.
01:08 - Yep, we're back.
01:09 - What will happen in terms of flood mitigation?
01:12 How will we prepare if there's another one in the future?
01:15 - We're gonna ask Mr. Chee,
01:17 can we build a big wall, levee,
01:21 around the bowling club?
01:26 - I don't know, we've got to look into that.
01:29 That's further investigation.
01:31 - Yeah.
01:32 - We've had blowers in here for months, trying to--
01:35 - Still to be there.
01:36 - Well, 'cause there's so much water still underneath.
01:38 - Yeah. - Oh, right.
01:39 - And I said, well, that will never go
01:41 until you can air it, 'cause you get the rubbish,
01:43 'cause there's so much rubbish underneath here.
01:45 And I said to the people at Pembroke,
01:48 you're not gonna get it dried out
01:49 until we can get that cleaned out underneath.
01:51 - One of the heroic efforts from all of this
01:54 has been from Yvonne, the treasurer,
01:57 because she worked out a couple of years ago
02:00 that the club did not have flood insurance.
02:03 So she made it her mission
02:05 to actually secure that insurance.
02:07 And if the club had not been able to activate that,
02:12 well, this club would have folded, I think,
02:15 because there would have been absolutely nothing
02:17 to rebuild it with.
02:18 So Yvonne, the treasurer--
02:21 (Yvonne laughs)
02:22 - Extraordinaire.
02:23 - Extraordinaire, has done an extraordinarily good job
02:26 in securing the future.
02:27 - $170 well spent.
02:29 - Yeah, it was just under $300 per year for that insurance.
02:33 And money very well spent for the club.
02:37 - Yeah.
02:38 (people chattering)
02:41 - This club means a lot to me.
02:45 My husband's father was a founding member here.
02:49 My husband did the presidency here twice.
02:51 He was on the board for I can't remember how many years.
02:54 And since his passing, I just wanted to get
02:57 and support the club.
02:59 - It's in her blood.
03:00 (laughs)
