00:00 Even though Malacanang is not safe from scary stories,
00:04 the President himself shared his experiences there.
00:08 Salima Refran was able to point it out.
00:10 Established in the 1750s,
00:16 the Governor General and President of the Philippines
00:20 have been living in Malacanang for generations.
00:22 As the family of President Bongbong Marcos,
00:26 he was the former President of the Philippines.
00:31 Now, President Bongbong has shared his experiences
00:38 in their childhood there.
00:41 I have never told these stories to my children.
00:46 They might be scared.
00:48 But since it's Halloween,
00:50 I will tell you my experiences here.
00:54 Especially when I was young.
00:56 One of the people who knew him
00:58 felt what they call "Father Brown".
01:02 He was an American who used to work in Malacanang.
01:06 Until now, he doesn't seem to want to leave.
01:10 When we first arrived here in the palace,
01:12 our security guards were sleeping here at night.
01:16 They would lay down their beds and sleep there.
01:20 And there were reports that at night,
01:24 someone would wake them up.
01:26 They call that "Father Brown".
01:28 He even lived in one of the guest rooms
01:32 because his room was being made in the palace.
01:36 He also had a scary experience.
01:39 Sometimes, I would go home at night
01:43 and I would close the door from my room.
01:46 When I opened the door,
01:48 I saw the ghosts moving.
01:51 One, two, three.
01:54 I would scream here.
01:56 And I ran.
01:58 I told the security guard,
02:01 "There's a ghost, there's a ghost."
02:03 Sometimes, he would feel the presence of Mama Sid.
02:13 It happened to me a few times.
02:15 When I climbed up,
02:17 I felt that someone was looking at me from behind.
02:21 Sometimes, the president would go ghost hunting
02:24 inside the palace with his friends.
02:27 I told them to stay there because there are many stories there.
02:31 One of my friends would open the door.
02:34 Before he could touch the door knob,
02:36 he opened the door by himself.
02:38 We screamed.
02:42 But President Marcos was not the only one
02:45 who has a scary story in Malacanang.
02:48 Former President Rodrigo Duterte told a story
02:52 that he wanted to go home to Davao
02:55 because he heard ghosts in the palace.
02:59 There were really ghosts there.
03:01 I asked him how many, he said, "Five."
