Mason Cole on the Pittsburgh Steelers execution woes against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

00:00 I think we saw yesterday just lack of execution kept us off the field.
00:03 So obviously execution will be big for us.
00:06 We have to, I can't speak highly enough about our defense.
00:10 They're playing phenomenal, we're just not helping them out.
00:14 >> Mason, how does it impact game planning not knowing if Kenny will be able to go
00:18 Thursday or not?
00:20 >> I don't think it impacts it much.
00:22 I think we have to go about our business, whether he's playing or not.
00:25 I think we got trust in Mitch.
00:28 We've seen him win games for us, similar situation.
00:31 So we'll game plan as normal.
00:33 I hope to go out there Thursday and win.
00:36 >> Mason, you mentioned the execution.
00:38 What else though, the run game, it looked like you guys maybe turned a corner
00:41 against the Rams and then,
00:43 is it something that they were doing differently, the Jags were?
00:46 How do you get the run game back on track?
00:49 >> Yeah, it's just, we just didn't execute high enough.
00:52 We just didn't block well enough, we didn't run well enough,
00:54 we didn't catch well enough, we didn't pass well enough.
00:56 Across the board, we just, bad ball by all of us.
01:00 And when you do that, you're gonna score ten points and
01:01 you're gonna lose football games, and that's what we did.
01:03 >> How frustrating is it to have that happen,
01:05 especially after a week where it looked like things were coming together after
01:08 the bye?
01:09 >> Yeah, it's frustrating.
01:10 It's the nature of this game though.
01:13 There's gonna be weeks where you play well and things go well.
01:15 There's gonna be weeks where for whatever reason you don't execute.
01:18 And yesterday was one of those days for us.
01:20 >> It feels like execution has been a common thread throughout the season.
01:23 How do you fix that?
01:24 I mean, it's, we're eight weeks in.
01:26 >> Yeah, I think it comes down to focus, attention to detail,
01:31 and playing one play at a time.
01:34 I think there's times where me, us, as a line, as an offense,
01:38 we get hung up on things we didn't do well, things that happened in the past.
01:41 We have to play one snap at a time, have immense focus for every play.
01:46 The next play is the most important play, and go from there.
01:52 I think that helps execution when you're focused on your job and your job only.
01:57 And that's what we have to do.
01:58 Everyone just has to do their job.
