Simon Collings reacts to West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

00:05 And it probably sums up what is a pretty miserable night for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

00:10 He made six changes to his side for this game, but for me,

00:13 none of those players really stuck their hand up to start Newcastle at the weekend.

00:18 It was a pretty poor performance and they went out with a win.

00:20 But for West Ham, I think it's a big result.

00:23 And particularly if you look at the teams left in this competition,

00:25 you know, there's a real chance for some of them to go and claim the silver.

00:28 When West Ham have shown that they've been a brilliant cup team under David Moyes,

00:31 of course, that European Conference League run last season,

00:33 so they'll feel they've got a real good shot at winning this.

00:35 As for Arsenal, it does clear their fixtures a bit.

00:38 They can concentrate on the Champions League and the Premier League,

00:40 but I think Arteta, given what we know about him,

00:42 the way he unloaded his bench to try and get a result here,

00:44 will be really disappointed about going out.

00:46 He spoke afterwards about how he took the blame for it, he didn't get the team to compete.

00:49 But at the end of the day, Arsenal out and it's West Ham who move on to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
