00:14 exploding body to handle.
00:16 - The event of the evening.
00:18 For the BKFC lightweight world title,
00:20 Luis Palomino, the champion, versus Tom Shove.
00:24 - You can see here Sean,
00:25 the main thing is that six inch reach advantage
00:27 that Tom Shove has.
00:29 You don't want to stay just outside of Luis Palomino's range
00:32 continue to stay in that pocket, land those hard shots.
00:35 (upbeat music)
00:38 (crowd cheering)
00:47 - This is bout number eight,
00:55 and by far the biggest for Tom Shove in BKFC.
00:59 He's also a veteran of 15 pro MMA fights,
01:03 including one in Bellator.
01:04 Shove said in our fighter meeting,
01:07 where he is always extremely honest,
01:10 extremely well-spoken, extremely humble.
01:13 He said, "I'm normally a really slow starter.
01:16 Luis Palomino's a fast starter.
01:17 I have a tendency to speed up.
01:19 Palomino slows down.
01:20 I have to start fast, set a pace,
01:23 and hold a pace for all five rounds."
01:26 - He feels like when his opponent, Palomino,
01:28 gets tired, he gets on his bike and moves.
01:30 So his job is to cut off the ring
01:32 and make him fight the entire time,
01:33 and that will wear him down even quicker.
01:35 - Tom Shove also told us,
01:36 with full respect to Luis Palomino,
01:38 who he has great respect for,
01:41 he said, "I think Palomino will start to fade
01:43 in the fourth round, and when Palomino fades,
01:46 he stops throwing and he starts moving a lot.
01:48 When he does so, I have to smartly cut off the ring."
01:53 - Shove feels like he has better dirty boxing
01:55 and grip strength. He wants to utilize that.
01:57 Once again, trying to wear his opponent down.
01:59 He feels like that's one of his keys.
02:01 Pushing the pace, making his opponent tired,
02:03 beating him in the later rounds.
02:05 You can see Tom is in a good frame of mind right now.
02:14 He's positive. He can taste this belt.
02:16 He really, really been looking for this for a long time.
