Christmas at Chatsworth theme 'Palace of Advent'

00:00 So this year the theme is Palace of Advent which we've been playing around with for a

00:06 while with the idea. Chatsworth has a nickname of Palace of the Peaks which sort of started

00:11 the idea I think. There are 24 rooms on the route and we have 24 windows looking over

00:16 the south lawn so it is perfect for an Advent calendar. So that's really where the idea

00:22 came from. I'm now moving on, I think I've got as far as Christmas 2025 now so we've

00:28 got working titles there and I start buying for next year in about a week. We open for

00:36 Christmas on Saturday, really exciting for me, this has been kind of held in my head

00:41 for about a year so to see it finally released and get the feedback from the public I quite

00:47 often snoop on the route on opening Saturday just to hear what people say and I hope they're

00:54 happy. It's the first year that I've worked outside in the garden as well. We have another

00:59 first out there which is the projection over the south lawn on the facade which is looking

01:04 really really beautiful so there's quite a few firsts for me this year which is really

01:09 exciting because it's the whole theme coming together right across the the offer so garden,

01:15 farmyard, house and the projection. This is our state dining room, it is still used on

01:22 occasion to host functions. We bought china out from the collection that is not normally

01:30 on show this year so the places are all made with very very beautiful ceramics and it's

01:38 very much as the sixth Duke had it.
