00:23 Alright, so we got two movies this
00:26 weekend coming out to start off the fall.
00:29 Yeah, one that's a big talker.
00:30 When people might not know about,
00:32 but need to.
00:32 Alright, so let's go with the first
00:34 one. The first one is Priscilla.
00:36 A lot of people anxious about this.
00:37 Sophia Coppola, you know,
00:39 and it's it's based off of the book
00:42 that was written in 1985.
00:44 Her memoir.
00:45 Yeah, Priscilla's memoir about her
00:48 14 year relationship with the case.
00:51 Actually, it was 13 years,
00:53 but I get the word 14 in there because
00:55 that's how old she was when she was.
00:58 And I will say use this word 'cause
01:00 it's true procured for Elvis by
01:02 another fellow soldier when she was
01:05 in Germany with her stepdad who was
01:07 stationed there so an Elvis is 24.
01:10 He was he was Elvis.
01:12 He wasn't just some little soldier boy.
01:14 And you know, Brad Sophia Coppola's
01:17 wheelhouse has always been the older,
01:21 powerful male, young, vulnerable
01:23 woman dynamic relationship.
01:26 She had her own relationship in her
01:28 own life and it's colored really just
01:31 about everything she's done her career.
01:32 And so this is really perfect for her.
01:36 But I will tell you,
01:37 I don't think time is kind and it
01:40 really is uncomfortable to see this
01:43 young girl with this grown man.
01:46 I really and the thing is the actors,
01:49 the way their cast it emphasizes it even more.
01:52 Lisa Marie Priscilla Priscilla
01:55 was 5 foot 3 and Elvis was 6 foot.
01:58 The young girl,
01:59 Katie Spaniel,
02:00 who plays Priscilla is actually only 5 one.
02:03 And Jason Alordi,
02:04 who plays Elvis is 65.
02:06 So when you see that dynamic,
02:08 you can't help but feel little girl,
02:10 little girl with grown man.
02:12 She was trying to do it.
02:14 It's just well, they emphasize it.
02:16 Yeah, I think she picked the
02:18 best actors for the parts.
02:20 They are very good in it.
02:22 People want to know how is Jason
02:24 opposed to Austin Butler, right?
02:26 It is not a movie about Elvis,
02:28 although Elvis is really there.
02:30 He's gotta be.
02:31 Jason Butler was Elvis.
02:33 He played Elvis, right?
02:36 Jason doesn't sing.
02:37 He doesn't dance.
02:38 He's just there for Priscilla.
02:40 But yeah, it it made me uncomfortable.
02:43 I gotta be honest.
02:44 And as you well know,
02:46 it's coming out about Lisa Marie.
02:48 Yeah, like before she passed away,
02:51 she read the script.
02:52 She was sending notes to Sophia saying
02:55 she didn't like things here and stuff
02:57 like that and I'm glad that that's
02:59 out there because she is getting her say.
03:02 Even though she's not here to say it
03:04 personally, he is letting her thoughts
03:06 be known, but the thing is this is her
03:09 mother's truth. It is her mother's story.
03:11 Right? Priscilla's a co wrote the screenplay.
03:13 Not only did she write the book,
03:15 but she co wrote the screenplay.
03:17 You know what we all want to
03:19 think the best of our parents,
03:21 adults that had lives and you know,
03:23 right? And the thing about Lisa Marie
03:25 that she was worried about and people
03:27 to realize she was in charge of her
03:29 father's legacy and stuff and that's
03:31 what she really was worried about.
03:32 How was going to be portrayed and
03:34 how that was going to go very quickly?
03:36 What do you give it?
03:37 No question that Priscilla loves him.
03:39 It still loves him and you know that
03:41 they just recently settled something.
03:42 She gets to be buried as close to him as
03:45 possible, so yeah, she loved him.
03:46 But anyway, I give it 3 1/2 red vines.
03:49 It's a beautifully beautiful
03:50 story. I didn't like the way it
03:52 seemed dip to black seemed.
03:53 But I got to feel like I was watching
03:55 a Viewmaster and it kept me from
03:57 getting emotionally engaged in the story.
03:59 So that's a Sophia direction.
04:01 The dictatorial thing.
04:02 OK, but the next one will be.
04:03 We gotta do very quickly,
04:04 but there's a thing.
04:05 This is a secret.
04:06 I didn't know about this movie
04:07 until like a couple days ago.
04:08 Well, you know it opened in
04:10 select cities a week ago,
04:11 but now holdovers is about.
04:13 He'll love this.
04:14 A cantankerous history professor,
04:16 a grieving lunch lady and an
04:19 angry student who get left behind
04:21 at a boarding school over the
04:23 holidays and now they're stuck together.
04:25 So I say you know what?
04:27 Spend your holidays with three
04:29 miserable people, but have the
04:30 one that your most wonderful times.
04:33 It's a dramedy.
04:34 It's set in the 70s.
04:35 It feels like a 70s movie.
04:37 The cast is dynamic.
04:38 Paul Giamatti needs to play more lead roles.
04:41 He is so good.
04:42 This movie is so funny even
04:44 though it's a dramedy.
04:45 Very funny and you know what?
04:47 I would give divine joy Randolph
04:49 five red vines for that name.
04:51 Divine joy Randolph.
04:52 She is amazing in this movie as well.
04:55 It is really a joyful movie to see,
04:58 and everybody in the critics
04:59 group I saw walked out loving it,
05:01 and I'm hearing audiences
05:03 are walking out loving it.
05:04 I can't wait.
05:05 I give it for red vines.
05:07 Wow, you won't be disappointed.
05:09 Please go see this movie and support it.
05:11 You will not be let down.
05:13 Yeah, I was just reading this
05:15 morning about this and they said
05:17 they don't want to say anything.
05:19 Maybe too soon, but maybe somewhere

05:22 probably going to get nominated for sure.
