00:00 Yesterday, AFP Chief of Staff Romeo Browner Jr. announced that he heard some rumors about destabilization efforts against the Marcos administration.

00:11 But Browner explained that he misunderstood the explanation of his statement.

00:16 There is no destabilization plot.

00:19 Bernadette Reyes was right.

00:23 We hear a lot of... we can say destabilization efforts.

00:34 Some say that we should replace our president.

00:39 Because of many reasons, some say that there should be a new president.

00:49 And sadly, some of them were former officers of the armed forces of the Philippines.

00:56 This is what AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Browner Jr. said yesterday at the change of command ceremony of the Western Militant Command in Zamboanga City.

01:06 But now, the AFP chief is saying that he misquoted or misunderstood his statement.

01:13 It was taken out of context.

01:15 I did not mention about destabilization plot.

01:19 Because if we say plot, it's like a plan that we will execute.

01:25 So what I said during my statement was that we hear rumors about destabilization efforts.

01:44 He respects the retired AFP officers.

01:47 But he quoted the message to those he called on on September 21 to join the killings protest.

01:55 He just reminded his friends that they have fulfilled their duty.

02:00 The oath that we took seriously, that we would protect the Constitution and the duly constituted authorities,

02:07 and we should not join any movements that are there.

02:14 AFP also assured that the public should not be worried.

02:18 I can tell you that there is no security threat to be worried about.

02:25 The Armed Forces of the Philippines is a professional organization.

02:29 We follow the law, we follow the chain of command, and we are loyal to the Constitution.

02:34 According to National Security Advisor and Retired General Eduardo Año,

02:38 retired military officers have healthy and passionate discussions.

02:44 There were criticisms from some police officers of the current administration.

02:48 But this is part of democracy.

02:50 There is no destabilization plot.

02:53 The security sector is also ready to act against threats to national security.

02:59 The PNP has no reason to have destabilization.

03:03 I don't see any reason for any destabilization.

03:06 So far on our side, there is no reason.

03:09 But Acorda admitted that there were issues in the Military and Uniformed Personnel or MUP Pension System Act.
