00:00 Work is starting on the £3.3 million transformation of Skegness Railway Station.
00:07 Funded by the Town Deal, EMR and Network Rail, the work will include the front of the building transformed into new customer areas.
00:14 It's going to be great news actually. It's going to be a tremendous, more or less a good investment of £3.3 million into the Skegness Railway Station.
00:24 It will lighten it up and it will look a lot better and it will be ideal for visitors as well as the residents to go through using the network for the railway.
00:36 It's just great news. It's come together at last. I know there's a lot of different operators involved in it to get it off the ground and quite honestly I think it's going to be a good thing.
00:52 It's also been announced that the planned closure of the station's ticket office has been scrapped in a government U-turn.
00:59 It's fantastic that is because we do need a ticket office. There's a lot of people who don't understand a lot on the internet how to get a reasonable price ticket here and there and what they've got to offer.
01:11 You need that bit of backing and reassuring for the customers to know what they're doing at the ticket office. I'm really pleased that is not going away and it will be functioning properly at Skegness.
01:25 Other works funded by the Town Deal to replace seven shop windows are also underway.
