00:24 Hi. Welcome to Learn Guitar with David Brent.
00:29 [Music]
00:39 The response to this series has been phenomenal. Thank you.
00:46 I was going to answer some of my pupils' questions.
00:52 David, what's your inspirations? Well, I probably wouldn't say The Beatles and The Stones and Led Zeppelins.
01:06 I'd probably say Sir Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi because of what they were trying to do.
01:20 They didn't do it in song form. I imagine that would have been awful.
01:28 But I'm trying to do it in song form. So yeah, make of that what you will.
01:37 Which do you pride yourself on more, your artistry or your philanthropy?
01:43 It's a good question. I think the artistry feeds into the philanthropy.
01:48 If I can help anyone whilst entertaining them or if I can make money from this and give a small percentage of that away, then yeah, good.
02:08 Are you single? Never you mind. Depends. Who's asking?
02:14 Bob Lewis. I don't know why you'd want to know that.
02:19 Could you make a song up on the spot? Well, that's what I do. I do make up songs.
02:25 That is what you sit here and you riff and then a song and then you write that down and learn it.
02:33 So yes.
02:40 How do you finger A minor?
02:48 You probably you might remember this one. I played this at Wernham Hogg.
02:55 But the documentary team cut out a verse, probably too controversial for them.
03:03 Or it didn't make me look a big enough of a prat. So let's have a little bit of context now.
03:12 This is called Spaceman Came Down and you get to hear the second verse, which explains everything, really.
03:22 Yeah.
03:37 Spaceman came down to answer some things. The world gathered round from paupers to kings.
03:44 I'll answer your questions. I'll answer them true. I'll show you the way you'll know what to do.
03:51 Who is wrong and who is right? Yellow, brown, black or white?
03:57 The spaceman he answered, you're no longer mine. I've opened your eyes, you're now colorblind.
04:18 The spaceman looked human but with black shiny eyes. He spoke brilliant English, his voice synthesized.
04:25 He traveled the country just spreading the word of love and affection.
04:30 He picked up a bird, the bird it was dead, but he made it just fine.
04:35 He walked on the water and turned it to wine. A young child he said, are you Christ in a mask?
04:42 No, I'm just magic, but I could see why you'd ask.
05:00 I'd just like to play around, really, see what happens. That's just called riffing.
05:06 I don't know what I'm going to play next, but it'll probably be a C.
05:13 Just C, F, A minor G. Pretty girl on the hood of a Cadillac, yeah.
