00:00 After nearly seeing their college football playoff dreams come to an end,
00:04 the Texas Longhorns held on getting the 33-30 win against Kansas State. It was
00:10 Burt Auburn's leg that was the difference and gave the Longhorns the
00:13 lead and ultimately the win in overtime. While it might not have been the game
00:17 Texas was hoping for, a win is a win and the Longhorns kept their spot at number
00:22 seven in the latest edition of the top 25 AP poll on Sunday. The only change
00:28 that was made to the top 10 was with Ole Miss who moved up to number 10 thanks
00:33 to Oklahoma's loss to Oklahoma State. The Longhorns offense was explosive to
00:38 start the game as quarterback Malik Murphy got his second start for the
00:42 Horns. The redshirt freshman helped his Longhorns take a 27-7 lead entering the
00:48 last minutes of the third quarter with touchdowns from Adoni Mitchell, CJ
00:52 Baxter and Jonathan Brooks. But the reigning Big 12 champions refused to go
00:57 silently in the night tying the game at 27 due to a Will Howard connecting in
01:03 the air three times. Texas were able to regain the lead on Auburn's 34-yard
01:08 field goal with six minutes left before the Wildcats eventually tied the game
01:12 sending it into overtime. Auburn then drilled a 42-yarder giving his Horns
01:18 the lead and therefore forcing his defense to keep the Wildcats out of the
01:22 end zone to keep their championship hopes alive this season. Howard marched
01:26 K-State down the field but was tackled by Byron Murphy and Barron Sorrell before
01:32 throwing an incomplete pass to seal the victory for the Horns. Texas will now
01:36 have back-to-back road games first at TCU then at Iowa State before having the
01:42 regular season finale against Texas Tech back at DKR. From Longhorns Country, I'm
01:47 Alexandra Cox.
