Pete McKee talks about his new exhibition 'Frank & Joy - A love story'
Transcript
00:00 I'm overwhelmed by how it's all come together.
00:03 It's been a big effort from a lot of people to build this exhibition.
00:09 It's a piece of theatre and I've got someone who can build theatre sets to create this exhibition with me.
00:16 And to see it now come to fruition, it's blown me away.
00:21 So I'm hoping whoever comes to visit will just be as blown away as I am.
00:25 With this show, not only is it a collaboration with people building things,
00:29 some of my friends have been used as models within the show.
00:33 I used my sister and her husband to become Babs and Terry, the landlady of the Buffers Rest.
00:41 So I've been taken as Babs and Terry.
00:44 I had a professional photographer come in to take the photograph and mocked it up like it was a trade magazine article,
00:50 just to give some more authenticity to the actual show.
00:54 It's like my story with my love for Jay and my wife, so it's our story in a little way.
01:00 But it's also a story that hopefully is universal to everybody who comes to see the show,
01:04 not just Sheffielders but anybody, where there's that longevity and that love and that compassion
01:08 and feeling between people and trying to create that show.
01:12 But it's not just a love story between two people, it's also a love story about pubs
01:16 and how we as people use pubs and how important they are for our community.
