00:18 Now the all new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
00:20 is the second generation bike from the manufacturer
00:23 and the bookings for the motorcycles have also commenced.
00:26 Now at the EICMA 2023,
00:28 Royal Enfield has also unveiled
00:30 an all electric version of the Himalayan.
00:32 Other than that, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
00:35 sports a new powertrain that is dubbed as the Shepa 450
00:39 by the Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer.
00:42 And the powertrain consists of a brand new liquid cool
00:45 dual overhead camshaft, four valve engine
00:48 that displaces 451.65 CC.
00:52 Now the brand new engine has a bore and a stroke
00:55 of 84 mm and 81 mm respectively.
00:58 And the engine now pushes out 39.5 BHP
01:02 and around 40 NM of peak torque.
01:05 The previous generation Himalayan used to push out
01:06 around 24 BHP and 32 NM,
01:08 so that is a significant gain over the previous one.
01:12 Now the gearbox has also gained an extra ratio
01:15 and has now become a six speed unit.
01:18 Now the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
01:20 sports a 43 mm upside down fork
01:22 and a monoshock at the rear.
01:24 Now both the front and the rear offer 200 mm
01:26 of suspension travel.
01:28 Now the front wheel is a 21 inch unit
01:31 and the rear wheel is a 17 inch unit.
01:33 And they are wrapped around in 90 90 21 at the front
01:37 and a 140 80 R17 at the rear.
01:40 And they come equipped with seat tires.
01:43 Braking duties are handled by a single disc
01:45 that is a 320 mm disc at the front
01:47 and a 270 mm disc at the rear.
01:49 Both get by-brake calipers
01:51 and a dual channel ABS is standard
01:54 on the all new Royal Enfield Himalayan.
01:56 And the riders can switch off the rear ABS as well.
01:59 Now the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
02:01 is the first motorcycle from the brand
02:02 to feature a different riding modes.
02:05 Now this is possible thanks to the Ride by Wire technology
02:07 and the switchable ABS setup.
02:09 Now the three riding modes are Eco, Performance
02:12 and with this performance,
02:14 the rear ABS can be switched on
02:15 and with the third mode of the performance,
02:18 the rear ABS can be off.
02:20 Now the new Himalayan 450 also gets a tech upgrade as well.
02:24 Now it gets a new big TFT display.
02:27 This circular unit offers Bluetooth connectivity
02:29 and turn by turn navigation with Google Maps support.
02:32 Also seen as a full LED lighting setup
02:34 from front to the back
02:36 and that actually looks really really nice.
02:38 Apart from that, the motorcycle gets a 17 liter fuel tank
02:42 and the Himalayan 450 is actually three kilos lighter
02:44 than its predecessor, weighing at around 198 kgs.
02:48 Now the ground clearance is also up by 30 mm
02:52 which is now at 230 mm
02:54 and the seat height has also increased by 25 mm
02:58 and is now around 825 mm.
03:01 The new Himalayan 450 is offered with three variants.
03:04 There is the Himalayan, Himalayan Pass
03:05 and the Himalayan Summit
03:07 and they come in different colors for each of the variants.
