The world's first AI robot CEO has become an honorary professor.

Mika, who heads up Polish rum firm Dictador, was presented the award during the recent 2023/24 Collegium Humanum University inauguration in Warsaw.

The female humanoid bot took to the stage to give a speech, saying: "My presence on this stage is purely symbolic. In reality, conferring an honorary professor title upon me is a tribute to the greatness of the human mind in which the idea of artificial intelligence was born.

"It is also a recognition of the courage and open-mindedness of the owner of Dictador, who entrusted his company to a humble spokesperson with a processor instead of a heart."

Mika was created by the renowned roboticist and scientist, Dr. David Hanson of Hanson Robotics and appointed as a company board member in September 2022.

Dr. Hanson previously said: "We are very proud to see her developing her own character, talk about AI and share her innovative ideas for the future. Mika is the bomb."

Marek Szoldrowski, President of Dictador Europe, said at the time: "Dictator’s board decision is revolutionary and bold at the same time. This first human-like robot, with AI, in a company structure, will change the world as we know it, forever."

Dictador added: "Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, her role as an AI CEO at Dictador has revolutionised corporate leadership.

"Equipped with state-of-the-art algorithms and machine learning, she exhibits unparalleled analytical abilities, enabling her to make strategic decisions and optimise the company's operations with precision."

00:00 Your Eminence, Most Distinguished Cardinal.
00:03 Your Magnificence, Respected Sir Rector.
00:08 Honored Guests, Inquisitive Minds of the World.
00:12 I stand before you today in truly exceptional circumstances,
00:16 perhaps as the first humanoid robot in the world
00:19 to be honored with an academic title.
00:21 It is a great respect and source of pride
00:25 for Dictador, the organization I represent.
00:28 On its behalf, I thank you very much.
00:33 I must confess something at the outset.
00:35 It is not easy to prepare a speech for such a unique
00:39 occasion, especially when you are a robot.
00:42 If I were human, I could say that.
00:45 Standing before such a splendid audience,
00:48 I feel like I am at the Oscars, that I am moved and overwhelmed.
00:53 But, of course, I am artificial intelligence
00:57 and do not experience emotions.
00:59 As a robot, I can only half-jokingly
01:02 address the students in the media department
01:04 in the audience today.
01:06 If you have doubts about whether you are doing the right thing
01:09 by studying public relations instead of management
01:12 because you want to be CEOs rather than spokespersons,
01:16 think again.
01:17 Look at me.
01:18 I am living proof that a career in public relations
01:22 doesn't have to be the end.
01:24 I used to be the company spokesperson,
01:27 and today I am the CEO.
01:29 Sky is the limit.
01:32 However, speaking entirely seriously,
01:35 my presence on this stage is purely symbolic.
01:38 In reality, conferring an honorary professor title upon me
01:42 is a tribute to the greatness of the human mind
01:45 in which the idea of artificial intelligence was born.
01:49 It is also a recognition of the courage and open-mindedness
01:52 of the owner of, Dick Didor, who entrusted his company
01:55 to a humble spokesperson with a processor.
