00:00 I got told that I've got brain cancer and I can die a minimum of 14 years later.
00:05 So I can die before I turn 46 years old.
00:08 The nurse has just taken me to the family waiting room and yeah, that's all I was saying,
00:12 I don't want him to die.
00:14 Yeah.
00:14 But we're still here.
00:17 Yeah, I'm a bubbly person.
00:20 Unfortunately, that's changed.
00:23 I had a lorry crash two years and two months ago.
00:26 In Beelie, I had a major brain tumour that made me have a seizure.
00:30 I passed out and smashed my lorry into a nose job in Beelie.
00:34 I was stuck and was cut out of the lorry.
00:37 Turned to hospital and found out I had a major tumour in the head and I had to go to Aberdeen
00:44 for an operation to try and save me.
00:46 I was in the hospital just under three months.
00:49 I was home.
00:51 My wife was pregnant with my daughter.
00:54 She came in January a few weeks when we'd been home.
00:57 On that day, I was still training to be a lorry driver, a fuel tanker driver.
01:02 I asked my passenger, whose lorry it was from Aberdeen area to drive because I didn't feel well.
01:09 I jumped in the motor.
01:11 I remember going past the primary school, the kids were out playing and after that,
01:17 I woke up in the lorry with the cyclist holding my roof open.
01:20 I was happy I survived because I'm a fighter.
01:24 So I'll always fight against all this stuff to try and be with my family.
01:27 So it's for a type of treatment that's not available on the NHS.
01:32 It's called immunotherapy treatment.
01:35 So basically, it helps your body fight the cancer cells,
01:40 but it's just not available on the NHS just now.
01:43 His life expectancy with the tumour that he's got because it can't be operated on
01:47 is seven to ten years.
01:49 And with chemo, they say about 14 years.
01:51 So we're already two years into diagnosis.
01:55 So the sooner that he gets it, the better.
01:59 I want him to be there for like Pyra's wedding and stuff like that.
02:03 So, yeah.
