Northumberland county council are the latest to back the devolution deal for the North East. Tyne and Wear Metro staff could be going on strike later this month following a pay dispute with Stadler Rail. Hadrian’s Wall damaged after Sycamore Gap Tree felled.

00:05 Northumberland County Council are the latest to back the devolution deal for the North
00:09 East. The multi-billion pound deal will allow the
00:12 region to have a bit more power and it will create a new North East Mayor role.
00:17 Tyne and Wear Metro staff could be going on strike later this month following a pay dispute
00:21 with Stadler Rail.
00:23 United Union members are being balloted on a new pay deal but if it is rejected the union
00:28 have warned that a week-long strike could begin on the 20th of November.
00:33 And finally, a survey has confirmed that Hadrian's Wall has been damaged where the Sycamore Gap
00:37 tree was cut down.
00:39 Historic England have said that there were cracks and parts broken off on the wall where
00:43 the tree fell.
00:45 The famous tree was felled in September and police have arrested four people in connection
00:49 and released them on bail.
