00:00 The lifestyle of true hot rodders is about more than just the machines.
00:08 It's also about enjoying what you have and knowing that you have what it takes to be
00:12 part of the club.
00:13 It's also about getting together and having a great time.
00:16 Want to see who can pet the girls?
00:19 Oh, and sometimes a hot rodder has to roll up his sleeves and pick a winner.
00:24 And hey, somebody has to do all this hard work.
00:36 Back at Jordan's shop, the gang finishes the roadster.
00:39 The project took a toll.
00:41 Maybe that's why a strong guy now goes on the car.
00:44 I went with Popeye.
00:46 It's kind of appropriate for the whole 1949, all the servicemen just got out and the wood
00:52 and everything kind of fits with a sailor would have kind of built this car.
00:57 Getting out of the service, you know, and Popeye's kind of a gnarly little dude, so.
01:02 It's now time for the finishing touches and Jordan can't wait.
01:06 He's eager to get behind the wheel.
01:08 All that's needed is a little polish.
01:10 It's been in the dust the first time it's got anything on it besides a fresh coat of
01:14 paint and it's cleaning up very well.
01:20 It took the passion of a 19-year-old builder, a hot rodder who thinks in those old school
01:27 ways.
01:28 Like those before him, he found many of the parts, designed the ride, and brought it all
01:32 together with the help of his friends and family.
01:35 It's hard to get a better definition of a true hot rod.
01:46 It's a car that truly speaks to a builder like Jordan.
01:50 It's perfect.
01:51 There's nothing else to it.
01:52 I mean, it's a hot rod and it's going to be driven and that's what I built it for and
01:57 that's what every hot rod should be doing, you know.
02:02 It's what they would have done then.
02:05 And it means all the more to him because of those who went the extra mile.
02:09 The car definitely wouldn't have come together in three months if it wasn't for my dad.
02:15 He stopped work and helped every second he could.
02:18 We had a lot of late nights working on this thing.
02:21 And especially guys like Finn and doing the floorboards.
02:25 I could have never done anything like that.
02:27 I never even thought about it, you know.
02:30 And Adam taking off work, almost losing his job to come up here and help me.
02:37 It's guys like them that really made this car come together.
02:39 You're 19 with your very own 28 Roadster.
02:53 Now that's a very nice place to be because it simply doesn't get more hot rod than that.
