Fresh off the stage from opening the CMA Awards with Jelly Roll, Wynonna Judd shares what it was like performing with the New Artist of the Year winner, core CMA memories, and what The Judds tribute album means to her.

00:01 - Jelly Roll is a force to be reckoned with
00:04 and he's his own person.
00:06 And getting to stand toe to toe with him
00:09 was one of my favorite things I've ever done.
00:12 It was too much.
00:13 He's so powerful and great at what he does
00:18 in a way that I was so nervous and so excited.
00:21 It's, I don't know how many more of these moments
00:23 I have left, but I can tell you this,
00:26 that was definitely top 10 for me.
00:29 Getting to hang out with everybody backstage.
00:31 I remember when people didn't have buses
00:34 and we used to all hang out in the dressing rooms
00:36 and you would walk in and you would see Johnny Cash
00:39 and Merle and George.
00:41 And you would see everybody hanging out together.
00:44 It doesn't work that way anymore
00:45 and I'm a little sad about that
00:46 because everyone has their own bus and their own stuff
00:49 and we're all pretty entitled to our space.
00:52 But back then in the 80s and the 90s, everyone hung out.
00:55 So it was a family reunion and it was different.
00:58 And so those were my bucket lists
01:00 of just getting to sit and talk to Tammy Wynette.
01:03 Loretta Lynn was the first woman in country music to hug me.
01:08 So I remember that like it was yesterday.
01:10 And so she's my absolute aunt
01:12 and Tammy was my guardian angel.
01:15 The first word is bittersweet.
01:18 I'm still here on earth.
01:21 So it does feel weird to hear the word tribute
01:24 because I'm still here
01:26 and I don't feel like I'm at an age
01:29 where that's supposed to be happening
01:31 yet the legacy of the Judd music
01:34 allows the next generation to hear these songs
01:37 who didn't get to hear and see the Judds.
01:40 So I'm ecstatic.
01:42 And I let Gwen and Blake both know
01:45 that theirs is my favorite one
01:47 and that I just feel really emotional about the whole thing
01:52 as you can understand probably why.
