00:28 The Plastic Hour with Professor Butterfield.
00:32 Good morning Junior Inventors. Good morning Professor.
00:36 As I promised you last week, this morning we are going to
00:40 bake an airplane out of junk. A bottle, bottle, bottle, bottle.
00:46 Is your junk ready? Yes sir, you betcha. All right, then let's get started with our
00:53 play. Be sure and have a good hot fire under
00:57 your pot for cooking the plastic.
01:01 While your plastic is simmering, stir thoroughly
01:08 until a creamy texture is attained.
01:12 Now we'll pour the batter on the griddle and let it bake.
01:23 You have your blueprints for the motor parts and your instructions,
01:27 so while you're baking your motor, we will entertain you with some music
01:32 played with all plastic instruments.

02:19 Is your tail assembly toasting? Well don't let it burn.
02:25 [Music]
02:43 See how light it is? It floats like a feather. I'll bet you forgot to bake your
02:50 helmet. Hurry up. I'll wait for you if you'll put a
02:55 wiggle on.

03:04 Now the moment we've been waiting for. The first flight in our plastic plane.
03:12 How does she work? I thought so. This little number will do
03:18 anything. Climbs like a rock.
03:23 And she'll dive like a comet.
03:36 Be careful or you'll black out.
03:43 Tell me professor, does the plane have any faults? Yes.
04:03 One fault. It melts in water. So don't dare get it wet and avoid all
04:10 rain clouds.
04:13 Is your nose running? Well wipe it off. Wipe it off.
04:23 Are your pants slipping? Well don't get caught with your pants down.
04:29 [Music]
04:33 Be sure and keep your eye on your wings.

06:25 Don't you think it's about time you came in for a landing?
06:30 [Music]
06:33 Did your plane fall apart? That's funny.
06:43 You know it always happens that way to me too.
06:46 Tune in again next week and I'll have a new recipe.
06:50 I guess it's just a fair weather plane.
