00:00 There is huge chunk of the audience who loves to watch Masterchef.
00:04 Masterchef has been a really successful kitchen reality show in India and currently its 8th
00:10 season is going on.
00:12 Chef Ranveer Brar and Chef Vikas Khanna have maintained the USP of the show and of course
00:18 the contestants too.
00:20 The different on the spot recipes from various new ingredients are fun to watch.
00:25 Though many times it is not affordable for us to try those recipes at home, the task
00:31 and challenges are extremely exciting.
00:34 But now in this 8th season of Masterchef India, contestant Suraj Thapa for the first time
00:41 ever in the kitchen of Masterchef made a very productive yet easy and very tasty dish which
00:47 impressed the judges.
00:48 Suraj Thapa converted the kitchen scrap into a very crisp, tempting yet simple dish.
00:55 He presented the whole process through a video which left judges in awe.
01:01 Suraj used potato pills and some easily available Indian spices to make this easy dish.
01:08 He mixed potato pills and Indian spices which we use at home and kept that mixture in a
01:13 microwave for the whole night at a very low temperature and the crunchy flavoured chips
01:19 were ready to serve.
01:21 Judges tested it and called it a zero waste milestone.
01:25 They suggested to the audience that we should try this instead of throwing pills into the
01:30 garbage.
01:31 This video went viral and received more than 20 lakh views.
01:36 While this recipe seems easy and a zero waste product, the major concern raised by viewers
01:43 is electricity.
01:44 Looking at the current charges of electricity, it is not possible for a common man to keep
01:50 their microwave on overnight.
01:52 Thus practically looking, it is not zero waste milestone.
