00:00 Hello, it's Michael Plant coming to you from Old Trafford after tonight Manchester United
00:03 recorded an important Premier League victory beating Luton Town 1-0. It's a game that certainly
00:09 relieves a little bit of the pressure under the under fire Eric Ten Hag and the pressure
00:13 on Manchester United certainly going into a two week international break it means that
00:16 they can at least relax on the back of a positive result. It was a performance that was particularly
00:21 fantastic from United for long periods of the first half it was sort of a performance
00:25 that has, we've seen a lot of this season with United, there was a lot of static play,
00:30 11 players who just were sticking to their positions, not much interchanging, lots of
00:34 passes in front of Luton, they were dominating possession in United but not creating many
00:38 chances and it's still a performance, I mean I tweeted at half time to say almost what
00:41 did this side work on during the week in training because there was no one taking the bull by
00:47 the horn, there was no one really creating chances or taking the game by the scruff of
00:51 the neck but they did change a little bit in the second half, they did create a little
00:55 bit more moments on the transition, I thought Rashford had a couple of openings down the
00:58 left and I certainly think he looks better down the left than out right where he started
01:02 today for United but the goal ultimately came around the hour mark when Viktor Lindelof
01:07 swept the ball home, good cross in actually from Marcus Rashford again, Luton failed to
01:12 properly deal with the ball, properly clear it and the ball fell to Lindelof about 12
01:15 yards out and he just stroked the ball into the Luton goal past Kaminsky to give United
01:20 the 1-0 lead, from there they didn't really look back, I think United controlled the game
01:25 I suppose from that moment on, didn't really give Luton many opportunities to score, in
01:29 fact Luton it took them until the 6th minute of injury time for them to actually create
01:33 any serious goal scoring opportunities, Ted Menge the former United youth player back
01:37 here with a chance that Andrea Nanna comfortably held so it's an encouraging result I suppose
01:45 and Manchester United for all the issues and all the problems that they've had this season
01:47 suddenly they've won 4 out of the last 5 in the Premier League, they're up as I say at
01:52 least temporarily in the 6th place in the Premier League and I mean I thought that there
01:58 were aspects of the Copenhagen display which were encouraging plus the Glasgow results
02:02 and perhaps there's a couple of tentative signs of growth from this Manchester United
02:07 side but I certainly wouldn't want to get ahead of ourselves because that performance
02:10 in the first half really wasn't good but United for all the issues they find a way to win
02:15 football matches certainly against weaker opposition and Luton really were weaker opposition
02:19 I have to say, really didn't offer a lot as I mentioned and a side that came here very
02:22 much trying to take a point and when they went behind just couldn't offer anything in
02:26 the game. Now one big concern as well coming away from this match is an injury to Christian
02:30 Eriksen, actually two injuries, an injury to Christian Eriksen and an injury to Rasmus
02:35 Koilin, big concern both players went up with injuries of course, supposed to meet up with
02:38 the Denmark squad over the international break, Erik Ten Hag just about to run down to his
02:42 post-match press conference, he'll of course speak about that and any other, give his reaction
02:46 to this win but for United it's an important three points that helps them move back up
02:50 the table and they will be back in two weeks time in Premier League action.
