00:15 >> My name is Warren Spector and I'm the General Manager
00:17 and Creative Director at Junction Point Studios.
00:20 I believe with every fiber of my being that games can tell
00:22 stories as deep and as
00:24 sophisticated as movies, books, or any other medium.
00:26 This game is no exception.
00:28 The power of Walt Disney's imagination brought into being
00:32 this alternate world called the Wasteland,
00:35 where all of Disney's forgotten and rejected characters,
00:38 they all end up in the cartoon wasteland.
00:41 Mickey Mouse inadvertently discovers this place.
00:45 Mischievously, he plays with the magics and creates a monster.
00:50 Mickey flees not even knowing that anything bad has happened.
00:54 But the blot is furious.
00:56 So he just devastates the world.
00:58 But this world has a hero of its own.
01:01 It's got Oswald the Lucky Rabbit,
01:02 the first forgotten, rejected character that Disney created.
01:06 So Oswald and the blot engage in the blot wars,
01:09 which rage for years.
01:12 One of the most important things in
01:15 the game is the idea of a heart.
01:17 No character in the Wasteland has a heart.
01:19 Mickey has the most powerful heart of all.
01:21 The villains of the piece are going to steal
01:23 his heart and use it so they can get out,
01:25 and trap Mickey in the Wasteland.
01:27 But Mickey escapes.
01:28 But as he explores the Wasteland,
01:31 what he discovers is that he's
01:33 responsible for the devastation of this world.
01:36 If he just leaves without righting that wrong,
01:39 his old friends are going to be
01:41 living in a not very pleasant life.
01:44 Mickey's core abilities in the game
01:46 involve the manipulation of paint.
01:48 He can actually control the power
01:50 of paint and the power of thinner.
01:52 Now, with thinner, anything that's painted in the world,
01:54 he can just erase it.
01:55 He can erase a wall.
01:56 He can erase the ceiling, jump up through it.
01:59 One of my goals for the game is to put Mickey in
02:04 a story that really confronts him
02:06 with the kinds of challenges worthy of a hero.
02:08 That's the heart of the story.
02:10 It's about redeeming yourself,
02:12 redeeming others, and healing the land.
02:14 At the end of the day, I think mostly it'll be about being
02:17 a hero, having fun, and engaging in an epic story.
