00:17 Bulls have increased openness from both sides about exploring a trade.
00:24 Now those of you who follow DallasBasketball.com on the regular basis, you guys know that we
00:32 have explored potential Mavs trade opportunities for Zach Levine over the years.
00:41 There should still be interest now, but how much interest should there be?
00:48 Because in previous scenarios, the Mavs didn't have Luke Adonchik and Kyrie Irving on the
00:55 same team.
00:56 They have both of them now.
00:58 The offense is one of the best in the league.
01:01 As a matter of fact, they're second in the league only to the Indiana Pacers by two-tenths
01:06 of a point.
01:07 So it's like, do you want to mess up the chemistry you've experienced early on in this season?
01:14 The Mavs are 8-2.
01:16 The offensive chemistry is amazing.
01:18 They seem to have the right defensive pieces mixed in around Adonchik and Irving.
01:24 So do you want to mess that up?
01:27 That would be the big question here if you're Mavs general manager Nico Harrison.
01:34 Levine is still a good player.
01:37 So far in 11 games this year, he's averaging 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists a game.
01:43 But his efficiency has really suffered so far this year, only shooting 41% from the
01:48 field and 31% from three.
01:51 If you look at his contract, that's another thing that will come into play here.
01:55 He recently signed a contract extension with the Bulls.
01:59 So he is making this season $40 million, next season $43 million, and then $46 million the
02:07 next, and then through the 2026-27 season, which is a player option, he could make $48.9
02:14 million that year.
02:15 So that is a lot of money for Zach Levine.
02:19 Now given he's only 28 years old, he's still in his prime, early shooting struggles don't
02:27 mean that much.
02:28 We saw that with Kyrie Irving in the first handful of games this season.
02:31 He struggled and he's really come on here late for the Dallas Mavericks.
02:34 So I don't know.
