Saudi Arabia is building a futuristic ski resort in the middle of the desert
The ski resort, Trojena, will be available for skiers for three months every year, while the rest of the time tourists will be able to do watersports and mountain biking.

00:02 - Neom is a part of Northwestern Saudi Arabia.
00:07 It's about the size of Belgium,
00:08 about 26 and a half thousand square feet.
00:11 And there are a number of signature projects
00:12 that are taking place within Neom,
00:14 which will eventually home nine million people.
00:17 - The main asset of Trigena is visually,
00:25 is probably our two and a half, 2.8 kilometer lake.
00:29 And that lake 140 meters deep,
00:32 and it's surrounded by some of our major assets.
00:34 One of them is the vault,
00:35 which is our folded vertical city,
00:37 which is the gateway into Trigena.
00:39 And the other is probably the one that the consumers see
00:42 and that they can focus on, which is right behind me.
00:44 And this is our ski village.
00:46 And that the concept behind the ski village was taken,
00:51 what you would consider and say in a mountain village
00:54 and put it all in one building.
00:55 So we'll have restaurants, apartments, food and beverage.
00:58 We have two hotels in there.
01:00 - When Trigena opens,
01:04 it's gonna be the one place in the world
01:05 where you can ski and scuba dive on the same day,
01:07 so to speak.
01:08 So I think that everything to suit,
01:10 you know, the really interested traveler.
01:12 - People go, wait a minute,
01:17 there's snow in Saudi Arabia,
01:19 which is, you know,
01:20 that's one of the highlights we bring to it
01:21 because it actually, we have the study.
01:24 We just need a negative three degrees Celsius
01:27 in order to create snow.
01:28 And we can do that for three months of the year.
01:30 So obviously in the winter, we'll have snow ski,
01:32 but in the summer we'll have the lake,
01:34 you'll have other sporting and outdoor activities
01:37 that they can do because the weather there
01:39 is significantly cooler than the rest of the region
01:42 and there's no humidity.
01:43 So it's an asset for them.
01:44 They don't have to travel outside of that market.
