Hamilton says cold temperatures will be biggest challenge at Las Vegas GP

00:00 I think the biggest challenge is going to be the temperature.
00:14 I think this is one of the coldest, probably the coldest race that we've done in a long

00:19 Normally we're in hotter climates, you know, so yeah, this is chilly.
00:24 But I raced when I was younger, I raced in cold climates like this, like in Scotland
00:28 and around the UK, but I think it's going to be interesting this weekend.
00:32 But also it's a new circuit, we only have a short amount of time to learn it, so I'm
00:37 excited though.
00:44 I'm really intrigued ahead of this weekend because we're stepping into the unknown.
00:48 Racing in Vegas, night race, is much colder than every other race we ever participate
00:53 in and being within this city with all the lights, it's going to be pretty wild.
00:59 So I'm just excited to see what that journey brings, but above all I want to know if we're
01:05 going to be quick or not and that's ultimately what it comes down to.
01:14 There's many challenges going into a race like this, but the unknown about the circuit,
01:19 we don't know how much grip the tarmac is going to give to the tyres, how many bumps
01:23 there's going to be, we've scanned the circuit, but it's only when you get out there you truly
01:27 recognise it, how the tyres are reacting with the cold temperatures.
01:33 The track's going to be about 15 degrees colder than everywhere else we race on an average,
01:39 so that's going to be reacting totally different.
01:41 The engines are going to be running much, much colder, we're never really used to being
01:47 under the limit in terms of the temperature.
01:49 So there's so many factors that it's like a learning curve for us and that gives an
01:54 opportunity to do a better job than our competitors.
