00:02 In the big news of this Wednesday, Deshaun Watson now on the sidelines for
00:07 the remainder of 2023, a broken bone in his right throwing shoulder.
00:12 He is done for the year in Cleveland.
00:15 That is the big news DRS.
00:17 And just a few more stats before we dive in to college football and
00:21 the new rankings that were revealed.
00:23 A tough 24 hour span in Northern Ohio, in Cleveland and
00:28 then in Columbus, DRS, Deshaun Watson, as we said, in the 23 possible games that he,
00:35 26, excuse me, possible games that he could have played for
00:39 Cleveland in the last two years since he has been a member of this Browns roster.
00:44 He has only been out there for 11 fully healthy games.
00:47 That's 42%, only 42% for
00:50 a guy who paid a five year $230 million fully guaranteed contract.
00:57 And in those games when he's actually been available and healthy and
01:01 on the football field, Donnie, here are the numbers.
01:04 He has a 59.8% completion percentage in those 11 games.
01:08 He is averaging just a tick above 201 yards per game,
01:13 14 total touchdown tosses to nine interceptions.
01:18 So when he's been out there, Donnie, he's been the definition of mediocre and
01:22 probably even below average and he's hardly been out there.
01:27 All for a guy that has received a $230 million fully guaranteed contract.
01:33 I understand that it was structured by the Browns front office to not have that
01:37 hefty of cap hits early on in the five year deal.
01:41 But starting next year, Donnie, he is going to take up north of $20 million or
01:46 20% excuse me, of the Browns cap from 2024 and beyond.
01:51 This is not a career ending injury, but Donnie,
01:55 we're talking about a guy that will have played in 11 games in four NFL seasons.
02:01 Since he left Houston really in 2020, his final full year playing for
02:05 that Texans organization, the investment not there right now for
02:10 this Browns organization.
02:11 >> Yeah, he's the Jimbo Fisher of NFL players right now,
02:15 getting very little return on your investment at this point.
02:17 Also keep in mind this too, Jimbo Fisher left Florida State to go to A&M.
02:22 They didn't have any baggage, I'm like, my gosh,
02:24 we're gonna have to cover up.
02:25 We're gonna have to go through case studies on if this is a good move for us.
02:29 No, Deshaun Watson actually got that high pay, everybody laughed at that contract.
02:33 And the Cleveland Browns then took haymaker after haymaker for
02:37 the off the field problems that Deshaun Watson had.
02:39 This is the worst contract in the history of professional sports from that angle.
02:43 The half, outside of Cleveland Browns die hard fans, and
02:47 even some of those like, I don't understand this move here.
02:49 We're really gonna get this guy?
02:50 Is he gonna be in jail by the time his contract actually starts?
02:54 To spend that much money and get absolutely nothing out of it,
02:57 this has to be the single worst contract in the history of professional sports.
