00:00 The Friends cast is rolling out touching tributes to the late Matthew Perry,
00:03 with Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow now sharing messages about their former
00:08 co-star. Perry died unexpectedly at age 54 on October 28. Aniston shared an especially emotional
00:15 post honoring Perry on Instagram. She wrote, in part, "Oh boy, this one is cut deep. Having to
00:22 say goodbye to our Maddie has been an insane wave of emotions that I've never experienced before.
00:27 We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really
00:33 sit in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that
00:37 deep. And we loved him deeply." She continued, "He was such a part of our DNA. We were always
00:43 the six of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and
00:48 what our path was going to be." The actress also shared a text that she once received from Perry
00:52 out of the blue and wrote, "In the last couple weeks, I've been pouring over our texts to one
00:57 another, laughing and then crying, then laughing again." In his post, Schwimmer thanked Perry for
01:02 10 incredible years of laughter and creativity on the hit NBC sitcom. He said, "I will never forget
01:08 your impeccable comic timing and delivery. You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend
01:12 it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes.
01:19 And you had heart, which you were generous with and shared with us, so we could create a family
01:23 out of six strangers." And Kudrow shared this blurry photo of the duo and wrote, "Shot the pilot,
01:28 friends like us, got picked up, then immediately we were at the NBC upfronts. Then you suggested
01:34 we play poker, and it made so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that." She went on
01:39 to thank him for a host of other things, including for making me laugh so hard at something you said
01:44 that my muscles ached and tears poured down my face every day, as well as for trusting her.
01:49 She also wrote, "Thank you for your open heart in a six-way relationship that required compromise,
01:54 and a lot of talking. Thank you for showing up at work when you weren't well and then
01:58 being completely brilliant." She concluded her post by writing, "Thank you for the time I got
02:03 to have with you, Matthew." For more on this story, as well as tributes to Perry from Friends stars
