00:00 You know, it's been a rough year, but you really laid it on them.
00:02 You outscored them 37 to 7 after they had taken the lead.
00:05 Just how good was it to have a game like that?
00:06 What do you think was the key to dominating
00:09 after a little bit of a slow start?
00:12 Yeah, it was really nice having a win like that.
00:14 The locker room after the win was awesome, really enjoyable.
00:18 I think the key was just, like, to keep working.
00:20 Coach Pittman says all the time,
00:21 "When things aren't going your way, keep fighting."
00:23 And I felt that's what we did tonight.
00:26 KJ, I don't know if you all realize this stuff.
00:28 KJ set two more records tonight, passing career,
00:31 passing yards and career touchdown passing.
00:33 I just wonder what you all thought about all the records
00:36 he set out, like I said, I know it's not the year you wanted,
00:38 but just how he's -- you know, the career he's put together.
00:42 I mean, it really just shows all the hard work
00:45 he's been putting in.
00:47 Yeah, it's been pretty cool seeing KJ play
00:50 and having the success he has.
00:52 You know, me and KJ came in together, so --
00:54 I mean, you root for all your teammates,
00:56 but guys that you get to see, like,
00:57 putting in the work day after day,
00:59 he's really someone you root for.
01:00 He's a great team leader,
01:02 and the whole locker room really was happy for him today.
01:06 But both of you guys, just what were your thoughts
01:08 when Dominic Johnson got his touchdown run?
01:11 And then, Isaiah, what's kind of been --
01:13 what kind of impression has he made on you
01:14 in your first year here?
01:16 Dom, I mean, I was happy for him.
01:19 I know he wanted that touchdown.
01:22 I mean, I wanted it for him, so I was happy for him.
01:26 It was awesome seeing that, breaking a big run.
01:29 I got so alive, and you kind of get your head buried,
01:31 and then you look up, and you're just down the field.
01:34 It's just a jolt of energy, so it was awesome.
01:37 What was it like for the offensive line
01:39 to have a day like this with the run game,
01:41 having over 300 yards like that?
01:43 Yeah, it's huge.
01:44 300 yards of rushing is always a great thing.
01:48 I think it's really good. I think it builds confidence.
01:50 I think it shows the group that, like, we can do it.
01:54 We can put on performances like this,
01:57 and when we're on the same page,
01:58 when we got running backs, like, playing their butt off,
02:02 it's really fun.
02:04 What's this year been like for you?
02:05 I don't think you ran the ball since the first game of the year,
02:09 but you've gotten on the field some special teams and stuff.
02:12 Just what's this year been like for you?
02:14 Oh, I've just really been patient,
02:15 learning from all the other guys running,
02:17 and getting prepared for this moment.
02:21 Sam said that you guys had a plan this week
02:25 to kind of get you more involved.
02:26 I'm curious, like, when, maybe this week or last week,
02:30 did he kind of come up to you and let you know
02:32 maybe snaps were going to be a little bit more?
02:34 They always just told me to be ready and be patient.
02:37 It was, you know, KJ also running the football tonight.
02:42 I think he had 90 yards and, you know, contributed 300.
02:45 I mean, is that a boost when he kind of gets the legs
02:48 going for you guys and compliments the running backs?
02:50 Oh, it's definitely a boost.
02:52 He kind of like -- he'll spark the offense.
02:54 He's a great leader, and when he's making plays like that
02:59 and doing special things, it gets everyone pumped.
03:03 I'd say you mentioned the other running back
03:05 in front of you that helped you.
03:07 I wonder, like, in practice, what have they specifically done
03:10 to kind of nurture you or help you?
03:12 I mean, I just pay attention to all the little things,
03:15 like how they run the ball,
03:17 like just a little detail.
03:21 You're a captain, and this season's been up and down.
03:23 Just how have you guys, I guess,
03:25 all the captains bonded together to kind of maintain composure?
03:29 Yeah, with this season, having the ups and downs
03:32 and having some things not go the way we want to,
03:35 it's frustrating for everyone.
03:37 I think in good times and bad, though, it brings you together,
03:40 not just the captains, but the whole team.
03:42 I mean, when things aren't going good,
03:45 it's easy to let negativity in,
03:46 so you need to really get close with your teammates,
03:48 and that's kind of what keeps the negativity out.
03:50 And, you know, because of that,
03:53 we have a really special connection
03:55 with everyone in there, and I love all those guys,
03:58 and, like, they play for each other, so it's cool.
04:03 Isaiah, KJ was telling us, he was telling you all game,
04:05 like, hey, you're really close to 100.
04:07 Just kind of what was that like, and did you kind of have
04:09 that goal of yours when you got close?
04:12 I was just excited, and when we get to 100 yards,
04:16 I stay focused.
04:19 You just kind of, what are your impressions
04:21 of a freshman going out there, first real opportunity
04:23 to go out there and have the game he did?
04:24 Oh, it was awesome.
04:26 Before that last time we got the ball,
04:28 everyone was like, he's got 88, he's got 88 yards,
04:30 so we all, we were all like, coach, put him in, put him in.
04:32 We got to get to 100, so he ended up getting to 100,
04:36 and we got over 300, so it was a good day.
04:40 Missouri won on a game-winning field goal tonight.
04:44 They're going to come in here next week
04:46 trying to get to 10 wins.
04:47 Just maybe early thoughts on that matchup?
04:50 Yeah, we got a short week, so we really need to buckle down.
04:53 We can't enjoy this win for too long.
04:56 The Missouri game is always a really good game, a close game,
05:00 and it's a game we need to win.
05:02 I am excited for the game.
05:04 The locker room is excited for the game.
05:06 Our mind is already on that game,
05:07 and it would be a great way to finish out the year.
05:12 Just curious, do you have any connections to FIU,
05:14 being a Florida native?
05:15 Were you recruited by them, any teammates
05:18 that went to FIU or anything?
05:19 I played against some players that's on FIU,
05:22 but I did not get recruited by them.
