00:00 (crowd cheering)
00:02 - Keep your heads up, keep your punches up, keep it clean.
00:05 The BMI commands at all times,
00:08 protect yourself at all times.
00:10 Touch gloves, come out boxing on the bell, let's go.
00:12 - Well, six threes at super lightweight.
00:16 Dylan Cheema is in the blue and Golden Robbins,
00:18 Mora is in the all black.
00:20 And Matt, I have to say,
00:21 that really does add something to the atmosphere,
00:24 the dialed drums and the Cheema ring walk.
00:26 And he sold a lot of tickets,
00:27 but it just lends itself to like an electric atmosphere.
00:31 Imagine walking to the ring with that backing.
00:34 - The drums are almost like you're going to war, aren't they?
00:36 That's what they sound like.
00:38 You've got a good following, very low support,
00:41 and he usually comes out pretty quickly as well.
00:43 - Yeah, and tonight really matters for Dylan Cheema
00:45 because that was a big setback for him
00:48 when he lost his unbeaten record.
00:50 Oh, you're in front of the sky cameras
00:52 against Jordan Ellison, and there's no shame in that
00:54 because Jordan Ellison over four and six rounds
00:57 is a real problem for anyone.
00:59 But Cheema felt he was hindered.
01:02 He's had terrible elbow trouble.
01:04 And he was telling me he's had 12 fragments of bone removed
01:09 across two keyhole surgeries on both elbows.
01:13 He puts it down to years of kickboxing,
01:15 taking kicks to his arms and overextending.
01:18 And it's almost like sandpaper, he was saying.
01:20 You could hear it each and every time.
01:22 So he feels that he's back to a hundred percent
01:25 and he's going to want to show that tonight.
01:27 - Yeah, I can imagine he's very eager to get in
01:30 and impress and coming back from injuries
01:32 is always difficult.
01:33 - Zamora boxing out the southpaw stance
01:38 and can punch a bit.
01:41 He's got 20 wins in 10 of those,
01:42 50% have ended inside the distance.
01:46 He's not got a great record here, Zamora.
01:48 Every prospect he's been in with, he's lost in the UK.
01:53 But he has gone the distance with some quality operators,
01:56 but he's also been stopped
01:58 by some very good fighters as well.
01:59 Notably, Sean Noakes and Piers O'Leary,
02:02 just to name a couple.
02:04 - Yeah, who are both decent fighters.
02:06 So you see him here,
02:07 he's looking to really bang that left hand in,
02:09 you know, left hook, left looping up into the body.
02:13 He's really looking for power in these shots.
02:15 - Yeah, and he's found a target there,
02:17 long backhand.
02:18 Chima just needs to either get those gloves up
02:22 or get on his bike here
02:23 because he was right in front of Zamora.
02:25 It's not where he wants to be.
02:26 (crowd chattering)
02:29 - Getting nailed here with these straight left hands.
02:38 - Yeah, he's caught at mid-range
02:40 and he just can't get out of the way.
02:41 Chima either needs to hold or just readjust
02:45 and think about that game plan
02:47 because he's not where he needs to be right now.
02:49 And I'm certain a couple of those long left hands
02:53 have put a dent in Dylan Chima in this opener.
02:56 Good body shot from Chima.
03:01 - Yeah, I mean, Chima's been the busier of the two,
03:05 but Zamora's been the more accurate
03:07 and landed the better, harder shots.
03:09 - Yeah, and the Nicaraguan visitor fancies it.
03:12 Every shot he throws, there's plenty on it.
03:16 That's good work from Chima when he gets in close.
03:18 - Yeah, again, nice one-two there
03:22 from Zamora.
03:24 - And there's a short right hand from Chima
03:32 who perhaps has just navigated a nightmare start there
03:36 just to settle a little bit more in this opener.
03:38 (bell ringing)
03:43 It's a huge night in the career of Adam Azeem,
03:51 a European title chance.
03:54 He's looking to dethrone our French visitor,
03:57 Frank Pétitjean.
03:58 That's the European super lightweight title.
04:02 Adam Azeem, he's had it all his own way so far.
04:05 We've seen the flash, the speed, the power, the backflips.
04:09 He's got to put it all together tonight.
04:11 Remember, scan that QR code on your smart device.
04:15 We've got the live blog and the viewers' verdicts
04:17 where you can have your say.
04:19 Huge night, Matt.
04:20 Huge, huge night for Adam Azeem.
04:22 - Yeah, it is a big step up.
04:24 And he's, you know, he's fought for European title
04:26 very quickly.
04:26 You know, one of the quickest to do it.
04:30 But, you know, those two 10 rounds he had,
04:32 they'll stand to him tonight.
04:34 That season he picked up and, you know,
04:35 that was a bad first round really for Chima.
04:39 He's got to come out better in this round.
04:42 He's got to be sharper defensively.
04:45 - Yeah, and he's just wearing a few marks of battle there
04:47 because that left hand you saw in the replay
04:50 is a good shot from Zamora.
04:52 - Yeah, better start here now for Chima.
04:54 Just came throwing back with three good straight shots.
04:56 - Yeah, he's going to need that support.
04:59 We've just sprung into voice.
05:01 Torrid first two and a half minutes, I think,
05:06 in the opener.
05:17 - We know all about Chima's exploits
05:19 in the Boxer Series tournament.
05:21 He was also a supreme kickboxer as well
05:24 before he made the move over to professional boxing.
05:27 He's had points wins when he was rebuilding
05:42 after that loss to Jordan Ellison,
05:45 beating Gu Jianxing and Brian Mayrena.
05:47 Zamora just looks for that left hand again.
06:13 Doesn't quite land it on this occasion,
06:15 but another warning sign for Dylan Chima.
06:18 - I think Chima's probably better off
06:20 being a little bit busier.
06:22 You know, I think he's giving Zamora
06:24 a bit too much time, too much space.
06:26 And it's allowing him to really sort of
06:29 settle and pick his shots where,
06:31 I think Chima's better when he's fighting at a faster pace.
06:33 He kind of finds a better rhythm.
06:40 - Wild from Zamora on that occasion.
06:43 Chima had the hands up there,
06:48 but Zamora punches straight through the guard.
06:50 He has got time to settle.
07:00 This is over six rounds here for Dylan Chima.
07:03 He lost over four rounds and we alluded to it earlier.
07:06 It's a nightmare distance that if you
07:09 start to lose the first and then lose the second,
07:11 you need a knockout to get the win.
07:13 Yeah, Ronke and he didn't like that,
07:21 just holding and hitting from Chima.
07:22 Zamora, no hard feelings, just a touch of gloves there,
07:26 but can't do that.
07:30 (crowd cheering)
07:32 (bell ringing)
07:43 - A bit better now.
07:57 - Tonight represents part of this terrific schedule
08:01 coming up for you on Sky Sports Boxing.
08:03 Look at this.
08:04 CBS, Chris Billum-Smith returns to Bournemouth
08:07 against Matthias Masternack,
08:08 defending his WBO cruiserweight title.
08:10 The Monster on Boxing Day.
08:12 Boxing on Boxing Day, what more do you want?
08:14 That's undisputed super bantamweight titles.
08:17 Better be Ev Smith.
08:19 That's rescheduled for January 14th.
08:20 He'll be out there from Canada.
08:22 Tasha Jonas, part of our coverage this evening
08:25 against Michaela Mayer.
08:26 What a fight that is in Liverpool
08:28 for the IBF worldweight title.
08:30 Tasha defending that belt.
08:32 And then Bouazizi Aziz,
08:34 the WBA light heavyweight title eliminator.
08:37 We were so disappointed we didn't get that this year,
08:39 but everyone's got back round the table, everyone's fit.
08:43 And we get that as well.
08:45 Terrific schedule, more to come as well.
08:47 (crowd chattering)
08:50 - Back to this one, Matt.
09:00 And it's tricky for Chima.
09:03 This isn't straightforward.
09:04 - No, no, those first two rounds,
09:07 I think Zamora probably won them both.
09:11 - Yeah, he certainly won that first three minutes, didn't he?
09:15 Might have a bit more of an argument in the second,
09:17 but he could be two down here, Chima.
09:18 - Yeah, I mean, he's moving his head more here, Chima,
09:20 which is good to see.
09:21 He was a little bit static, I thought, to start with,
09:23 particularly in the first round.
09:24 You know, shipped a lot of backhands.
09:27 But he's certainly moving the head more here.
09:31 - Yeah, lands a couple of body shots there, Chima,
09:37 as Zamora's launching into a big left hand.
09:41 (crowd chattering)
09:44 - He got caught with the left hook and put there, Chima,
10:08 then fired back with a short right hook.
10:10 And actually, his shot was probably better of the two.
10:13 - Yeah, because the Zamora shot
10:15 came from a real strange angle.
10:16 He almost like, it was almost like a bolo shot.
10:19 He looped it up from his ankles almost.
10:21 But Chima, I agree, a good stiff right hand back.
10:24 (crowd chattering)
10:27 (crowd chattering)
10:30 - Just wondering if Chima could just
10:53 inject a little bit of pace into his work, perhaps.
10:56 Everything's maybe just a little bit one pace at the moment.
10:59 And maybe that's why Zamora's reading him.
11:01 - I think so.
11:02 I think he's gotta be a bit more adventurous.
11:05 He's gotta probably force the pace now.
11:07 Certainly gonna step it up,
11:09 because at this pace, at this range,
11:12 Zamora's comfortable.
11:13 And I think Chima's gotta try and put him under pressure
11:16 to force him into making mistakes.
11:18 (crowd chattering)
11:22 (crowd chattering)
11:25 - Chima bites down on his gun shield there.
11:38 Both exchange punches.
11:41 But it's a big night for Richard Riakor,
11:44 and he's backstage with the tailor.
11:47 - Richard, one man stands in your way
11:51 of you getting your world title shot.
11:53 That's Dylan Breslin.
11:54 Does that make this the most important fight
11:56 of your life so far?
11:57 - Absolutely.
11:58 Every single fight is very important for me,
11:59 to be honest.
12:00 But this one, there's a lot of pressure.
12:03 And yeah, we left no stones unturned.
12:06 So we're here to do our job.
12:08 - How do you deal with that pressure?
12:10 - Just enjoy it.
12:11 You know, there's pressure.
12:12 Pressure makes diamonds, man.
12:14 You know what I'm saying?
12:14 - Yes, sir.
12:15 Chris Willard-Smith has one of the belts that you want.
12:18 You had beaten before.
12:20 How's that running through your mind right now?
12:22 - I just feel like he's got something that belongs to me.
12:25 And I need to get through this guy today, good fashion,
12:29 and then take that belt.
12:31 - Thanks, champ.
12:32 - Cheers.
12:32 - So much domestic interest
12:41 in that world cruiserweight division.
12:43 Big night for Richard Riakor.
12:46 Cannot afford any slip-ups.
12:48 (crowd cheering)
12:50 Fourth round of this one.
12:52 Dylan Chima.
12:53 Well, he's not having a straightforward night here
12:56 against Robin Zamora,
12:57 who finds success with that long backhand again.
13:00 Snaps the head back of Chima.
13:02 Oh, and launches into a lovely, almost right screw shot.
13:05 Would you call that, Matt?
13:06 - Yeah, that right uppercut was a good shot, wasn't it?
13:08 It was a...
13:09 He just kind of ducked down onto it.
13:16 - He doesn't throw much straight, Zamora.
13:19 It's all from relatively unorthodox angles,
13:21 but that almost makes it difficult to read.
13:23 - Yeah, he kind of loops them under or loops them round.
13:26 - He obviously generates power with them.
13:27 - Yeah, yeah.
13:28 And he's accurate and he's not really...
13:30 He's pretty economical too.
13:32 A bit wide with the left hook there,
13:33 but he's not...
13:34 He isn't wasting much.
13:35 - Well, the pace from Chima is...
13:39 He's just allowing Zamora to dictate most of these terms.
13:44 - Yeah, and he's allowing him...
13:45 You know, when Zamora is in control,
13:47 he's dictating the pace and he's fighting
13:49 when he wants to fight.
13:50 He's resting when he wants to rest.
13:51 You know, the thing for Chima,
13:53 when Zamora does finish punching
13:55 and he wants to go for a little walk,
13:57 that's when he's got to try and step on him
13:59 and make him go again.
14:00 Force that pace on him.
14:01 - Yeah, it's not for the want of trying from Chima,
14:03 who is trying to just throw when Zamora's throwing.
14:08 Just hasn't really been able to put any sort of dent
14:10 in Zamora at the moment.
14:13 - And you sense, as Zamora fancies,
14:15 he's up on his toes, isn't he?
14:16 He's a moving target at all times.
14:18 - I think he's struggling with the southpaw stance
14:20 a little bit as Zamora.
14:21 - Cuffing shots from Chima there.
14:27 - You know, he didn't have much amateur...
14:28 He didn't get any amateur experience.
14:29 He came through the kickboxing route, didn't he?
14:32 So, he probably hasn't really had much experience
14:36 facing southpaws.
14:37 - Yeah, it was a relatively late transition as well.
14:41 He didn't come over to professional boxing
14:43 until he was 23.
14:44 But he won world titles in kickboxing.
14:49 Just like Brad Foster, who's opening our TV portion
14:52 of the card tonight, a very successful
14:54 amateur world champion in kickboxing.
14:56 There's that.
15:02 I mean, he threw it from almost behind his back there,
15:04 Zamora.
15:05 - He nearly hit the lights.
15:07 (laughing)
15:10 But when he does land it, he really launches into it.
15:12 You can see why he can punch a little bit.
15:14 - I mean, if you've got the distance on it right,
15:15 you've got, you know, Chima was coming onto it,
15:17 then that would have been a hell of a shot
15:19 when Chima seen it and moved out.
15:21 Yeah, I mean, it's wildly.
15:23 - Chima lands a couple of his own there.
15:33 But it gets caught with the left hand,
15:35 and I wonder if that just buzzed him slightly.
15:37 Chima stands, digs his toes in,
15:39 maybe just goes kitchen sink job for a second there.
15:43 It's tough work.
15:45 There's a cut.
15:51 That's not gonna help things.
15:52 - Now there's that beautiful right uppercut
15:56 from Zamora.
15:59 Lovely shot right at the start of the round, that was.
16:02 - He took it well, Chima, to be fair to him.
16:04 - He's taking everything while he's showing good,
16:07 you know, resilience and toughness,
16:09 'cause he's been hit with some pretty good shots.
16:11 - Cut the corner, start pulling right at me.
16:13 Tight guard.
16:14 This, I don't wanna see.
16:17 Your hands are down, head's up in the air,
16:19 you're waiting to get hit.
16:21 Tight guard, get your shield up, second and third.
16:23 So all you gotta do to win this fight,
16:25 you ain't gonna stop him, so you're gonna work on points.
16:28 You're looking to get points, points, points, points, points.
16:30 And don't want to break the defense.
16:32 Come shield, but we don't got time.
16:35 - What do you make of that advice from Richard Waller?
16:37 It's pretty sound stuff, stop chasing him around the ring
16:40 and get your hands up.
16:41 - Yeah, and stop looking for power shots.
16:43 You're not gonna knock him out, so you've gotta be busier,
16:46 you gotta land more.
16:48 I mean, I think he probably needs both these rounds here.
16:51 (crowd shouting)
16:54 - Short right hand from Chima.
17:19 Needs more.
17:22 There's that Zamora looping right hand,
17:24 doesn't land on this occasion.
17:25 Right hand just knocks Zamora off balance.
17:36 - Yeah, that's better from Chima,
17:37 got outside the left hand, right hook to the body,
17:39 right hand to the head.
17:40 - Yeah, you think regardless of the torrid start,
17:46 he needs these last two, Dillon Chima.
17:48 (crowd shouting)
17:51 - Zamora's pretty poker faced as well, isn't he?
17:59 He hasn't really changed his attack from the start, really.
18:03 He's been boxing at this pace.
18:06 Doesn't really change his punch variation.
18:09 Hasn't needed to, arguably.
18:10 (crowd shouting)
18:13 - Ooh, got nailed there.
18:34 - Yeah.
18:36 - Locked Chima back onto his heels.
18:38 - Ooh, again.
18:39 - Chima's hurt.
18:40 He's hurt here.
18:41 Needs to get his hands up and hold.
18:43 He does.
18:44 A minute left.
18:45 Oh, he's a torrid times with Dillon Chima.
18:49 - You know, got very sort of static again
18:51 with the head movement.
18:53 You know, the last round he was moving it more,
18:54 he was fainting.
18:56 You know, head movement non-existent.
18:58 - I don't think his legs are back underneath him here still.
19:02 (crowd shouting)
19:05 - Oh, I show him bravery.
19:07 Chima really digs down.
19:09 - Yeah, landed a good right hand there.
19:10 But got caught with a quick shot.
19:12 And again, another right hook there.
19:13 Oh, nailed again.
19:15 - There's nothing wrong with Dillon Chima's chin.
19:18 But it can only hold it so long.
19:20 Surely the fans roaring from the balcony
19:22 trying to get behind him.
19:24 These are treacherous, treacherous times for Dillon Chima.
19:29 - Yeah, taking a lot of hard flush shots here in this round.
19:34 (crowd shouting)
19:37 - We're glad to hear the bell.
19:41 - Yeah, that's a nightmare three minutes for Dillon Chima.
19:44 (crowd applauding)
19:46 - Breathe, breathe.
19:50 Not too bad.
19:52 Down.
19:53 (upbeat music)
19:56 - All right, you listen now, Dillon.
20:02 - Just listen in here.
20:03 - Are you okay?
20:04 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:05 - I don't know who you have this in the bar for.
20:07 All right, I want you to pick the shots now.
20:08 You have to jab, point scoring.
20:10 As soon as he goes for lunge, I want you to hold.
20:13 - Okay.
20:13 - Drink.
20:16 Any more?
20:19 Point scoring, Dillon, point scoring.
20:22 Hands up, you've got to have your hands up.
20:24 - Yeah, he got hurt.
20:25 That was the shot I think.
20:26 Right in the mouth.
20:27 - Yeah, yeah.
20:27 - Don't mind if you're holding it now, okay?
20:29 Hit some hold, hit some hold.
20:31 - Yeah.
20:31 - That's a good shot.
20:33 In between that, but he certainly came off second best
20:36 in those exchanges.
20:38 - Yeah, there's nothing wrong with Dillon Chima's heart.
20:40 There's nothing wrong with Dillon Chima's chin.
20:43 But surely you would think these three minutes
20:46 he has to win and possibly put Zamora away.
20:50 - Yeah, like I said, nothing wrong with his heart,
20:54 nothing wrong with his chin,
20:55 but there is quite a lot wrong with his defense tonight.
20:58 You know, no head movement.
21:00 Getting here really, you know, cleanly with hard shots
21:04 and Zamora accuracy has been good.
21:07 His shot selection has been good.
21:09 - What can Dillon Chima do?
21:13 What can he find?
21:15 The Boxer Series winner from Coventry
21:17 with all that fan support.
21:20 Can he find the one hitter quitter?
21:22 Can he find something to unlock Zamora?
21:24 It hasn't looked like it so far.
21:29 Ronkin, he just calls time.
21:30 I think, what have we got?
21:32 Shorts or shoelace.
21:34 Shoelace.
21:35 We'll just give Chima a chance to regroup.
21:40 I actually think it's some of the shorts, actually.
21:46 The tassels on the shorts have come loose.
21:48 What do you do if you're, oh, Dillon Chima here, Matt.
21:54 Probably not that.
21:56 But he dips down again and he punches with Zamora.
21:59 He has to.
22:00 He's going for a broad catch of Zamora on that occasion.
22:03 Chima, he's in the heart of the fire here, Matt.
22:06 He's in the eye of the storm.
22:07 - Yeah, Zamora planting his feet and going for it here.
22:10 Really looking for the knockout.
22:11 - Chima indulging though.
22:15 Engaging in the middle of the ring there.
22:17 He's throwing when Zamora's throwing.
22:19 It's probably not the worst plan.
22:21 It's danger though.
22:22 - Yeah, I mean, he did land a good right hand amongst that.
22:25 But certainly again, you have to say Zamora
22:28 had the better of that.
22:29 He outlanded him probably three or four to one.
22:32 - Tremendous effort from Chima,
22:37 especially when he's been hurt.
22:38 Was that one low?
22:45 Yeah, Rompini just says, keep him up.
22:48 - You know, but then the good straight left
22:49 through the middle after that.
22:50 You know what, Zamora's been impressive.
22:55 He's got good variety.
22:58 A mixture between the scoring shots,
23:02 tip a tap shots, accurate shots.
23:04 And then every now and then
23:04 he'll really plant his feet and peel one off.
23:07 - He's actually just got on his bike
23:09 and he's throwing straight shots now.
23:11 Just straight up boxing fundamentals.
23:14 He thinks he's ahead.
23:20 He knows he's ahead unless we're going to get some
23:22 hometown cooking.
23:26 Which I don't think we will
23:28 because it's difficult to make any sort of case
23:30 for Chima here.
23:31 - Zamora's, you know, these are clear rounds that he's won.
23:36 Chima's been competitive on just sheer will
23:43 and driving himself forward and trying to be busy.
23:45 But in terms of shots landed
23:48 and particularly quality shots landed,
23:50 Zamora's been well ahead.
23:55 - Probably not to be for Dylan Chima tonight.
23:57 No shortage of heart, no shortage of effort.
24:00 Just hasn't come together for the Coventry man.
24:02 Let's see what the cards say.
24:04 Let's see what Ron Kearney,
24:06 it's only one card, that's the one that matters.
24:08 I feel that it's a tough night at the office for Chima.
24:24 Zamora thinks he's got it
24:26 and there's not a lot of celebration in the red corner.
24:30 (crowd cheering)
24:33 the red corner. (crowd cheering)
24:38 Okay, let's get confirmation.
25:02 Let's see what the score is, Big Mo.
25:06 - Ladies and gentlemen, after six full rounds,
25:13 we go to referee Ron Kearney for the official decision.
25:16 He sees the contest 59 to 56,
25:20 declaring your winner, Robin Zamora.
25:23 - So 59, 56, Robin Zamora.
25:31 and they're happy in that corner, why not?
25:32 It's a shame for Dylan Cheema.
