00:02 So I love doing adventurous stuff, anything that really gets my blood pumping.
00:07 I've been skydiving multiple times, I've done the bungee jump,
00:11 I've also done the canyon swing.
00:13 I just really enjoy getting that adrenaline pumping.
00:16 [MUSIC]
00:18 I've loved motorcycles since I was a little boy.
00:20 I remember my parents taking me on one when I was probably about eight years old.
00:25 [MUSIC]
00:28 So the crash was pretty big.
00:30 I was coming home one evening after work and the weather was a little bit wet.
00:35 And I remember going around this bend and feeling a tap on my back wheel.
00:39 It wasn't big tap, but it was enough to send me kind of flying around a corner.
00:44 [MUSIC]
00:47 And I slid for about 100 meters.
00:49 And I tried to get up afterwards thinking maybe I was all right.
00:55 I definitely wasn't.
00:56 It wasn't until later on that I realized that both my wrists were broken and
01:01 my arm was broken.
01:02 So the recovery was pretty full on.
01:05 It was two months in casts, another three months going to the physio.
01:10 I had to relearn how to use my arms properly.
01:14 It was quite a rough experience.
01:17 The mental side of things as well was pretty difficult.
01:20 I still ride past that same spot every day on my way to work and
01:24 it just sends a shiver down my spine.
01:27 So my gear pretty much saved me.
01:31 If it weren't for my jacket, my arms would be shattered.
01:34 If it weren't for my helmet, well, that's pretty self-explanatory.
01:37 So riding to live to me means several things.
01:42 It means riding to enjoy myself, to enjoy life, to enjoy the freedom around it.
01:48 And the other meaning means to live, to make sure that I don't have another crash,
01:52 and to make sure that I come home to my family safe and sound.
