00:00 Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review meeting on the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse,
00:04 engaging with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to assess the situation.
00:09 Dhami briefed the PM on ongoing developments,
00:12 highlighting that video contact with the trapped workers has been established.
00:16 The PM spoke to Dhami on Tuesday, the second day in a row, to enquire about the operation
00:21 to rescue the 41 workers trapped inside Uttarkashi's Silkyara tunnel for 10 days.
00:26 In a post on X, Dhami said that he told Modi that the workers were safe and the
00:30 Prime Minister underlined that the rescue mission is the topmost priority.
00:34 This is the fourth time that Modi spoke to Dhami to take stock of the rescue operation
00:39 since the tunnel collapse on November 12. He spoke to Dhami on Monday as well.
00:44 In his post, Dhami said that the Prime Minister called again today and enquired about the
00:48 operation being carried out to rescue the workers trapped inside the under-construction
00:52 Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. He said that he informed the Prime Minister about the successful
00:57 insertion of a six-inch pipeline through the rubble, which will be used for providing food
01:02 in larger quantities and other necessary items to the workers.
01:06 "All the agencies, engineers, technicians and specialists are working hard to insert
01:15 the six-inch pipe through the rubble. It will be used for food and other essential items.
01:30 It will definitely motivate us all. We pray to God that this rescue mission is completed
01:37 as soon as possible. All our brothers and sisters should come out of this safely.
01:42 Our Prime Minister is constantly worrying about them and getting information on them.
01:48 He is providing us with help from wherever possible. All the agencies and the best
01:54 people are working together. We have informed the Prime Minister as well.
02:00 We hope that all the brave brothers and sisters will come out of this as soon as possible.
02:08 All efforts are being made for this."
02:11 Earlier on Tuesday, rescuers released the first video of workers trapped inside the
02:17 collapsed part of the tunnel. The visuals were captured using an endoscopic flexi camera
02:22 sent in through the alternative six-inch pipeline. The camera was sent in after it
02:26 came from Delhi late on Monday evening. In the video, the workers, wearing yellow and
02:30 white helmets, are seen receiving food items sent to them through the pipeline and talking
02:35 to each other. Rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing since portions
02:39 of the tunnel collapsed following a landslide early on November 12, leaving the workers
02:44 trapped behind a huge mound of debris.
02:45 The video was shared on social media by a woman who was also trapped inside the tunnel.
