Hartlepool Doctor Who fan Paul Bianco discusses his love for the show
Transcript
00:00 When and how did you fall in love with the character of Dr Hill?
00:04 Way back in 1963 I was 10 and the first Doctor of course was William Harden Hill.
00:10 I found him very quirky and I was quite scared of him actually and I got quite interested in that.
00:15 But the only short part of it is because President Kennedy was shot the same day,
00:20 sorry the day before.
00:22 So the rerun ends the following week and also shot the second episode on the second week.
00:29 And that's where it all started?
00:30 That's where it all started, yeah.
00:31 Second question, who is your all-time favourite Doctor and why?
00:36 It's hard to say, I still sound like Harden Hill but I think Tom Baker did a good job of it obviously.
00:42 You know, big teeth, curly hair, packs of jelly babies and what have you.
00:46 And the hat and the scarf?
00:47 The hat and the scarf, yeah.
00:48 So historically rememberable.
00:50 Oh yeah.
00:51 What is your all-time monster and why?
00:54 Well it's got to be the Daleks because I mean they don't look like anything at all,
00:58 they don't look human, you know what I mean?
00:59 You've got the Cybermen but you can tell it's a man dressed up in a rubber suit.
01:03 But the Daleks, you know, also they don't have human features which is a good thing.
