00:00 I'm gonna tell you before, I don't want to see any low blow
00:03 and then hit behind the head, okay?
00:05 Touch him up.
00:07 - Thank you, sir.
00:09 - Middleweight matchup scheduled for eight rounds.
00:13 Blast told us yesterday, closer to home,
00:17 lots of family, friends, fans.
00:19 He's gonna do his thing, put on a fantastic show.
00:22 Time to blast off. Here we go.
00:25 It is time to fight.
00:26 Silver and gold for 8-year-old Darryl Val Saint.
00:31 Daniel Aduku in the black and yellow trunks.
00:35 - I've seen Aduku several times.
00:39 He's a tough guy, a little bit awkward,
00:41 but he's physically strong.
00:43 He normally likes to come forward and assert his will,
00:46 but he's got someone in front of him with a height
00:48 and reach advantage and a power advantage as well.
00:51 - Born and raised in Ghana,
00:52 this is his second straight fight in the United States.
00:58 Fought Cordell Booker back in April
01:01 at the Mohegan Sun in Oakesville, Connecticut.
01:07 - And if you notice, you know, a lot of fighters from Africa,
01:09 they're a little bit more flat-footed,
01:10 a little more stationary,
01:11 but a little more planted on their feet as well,
01:13 so they typically hit a little harder as well.
01:17 - And to your point, Paul, he 15 wins, 11 finishes
01:21 for 34-year-old Daniel Aduku.
01:26 Blast back in May,
01:30 finished his opponent in round number two.
01:34 - He was really sharp that night.
01:35 - He really did. - He did blast, yeah.
01:36 - And you can also see Blast, you know,
01:38 speaking of the hemispheres you are in the boxing,
01:39 Blast, you can see, has that North American fluid style.
01:44 - Great hand position, catch and shoot,
01:46 uses his jab high and low, changes levels,
01:49 uses his feints.
01:53 - And finished that fight against Buzowski
01:56 with a nice second-round counter,
02:01 and that was all Shiro got back to his finishing ways.
02:07 Weighed 164.4,
02:10 weighed in at the middleweight limit,
02:12 160.2 for tonight's fight here in Orlando.
02:17 - Yeah, he's got a great build for middleweight.
02:20 Tall, long, he's got the power too.
02:22 - Coach Mark Farré in the corner,
02:29 Blast Darryl Valsaint.
02:30 - Yeah, Aduku, he's avoiding these shots
02:39 just because he's awkward.
02:41 He's not really moving, you know,
02:42 with any kind of intention.
02:44 He just kind of moves strangely,
02:46 so Valsaint's having trouble pinning him down.
02:48 - Yeah, Valsaint is one of those fights
02:50 where you may have to learn a little bit of patience.
02:52 Aduku is not gonna let himself get hit cleanly.
02:54 As you said, he's a little bit awkward,
02:55 but at the same time,
02:56 Aduku's also not controlling the ring,
02:58 so if Valsaint just accepts the fact
03:00 that a little by little, he'll take more and more control
03:02 of the ring, the shots will open up for himself
03:03 just like they did right there.
03:04 - Beautiful.
03:06 - And Aduku only finished once in his three losses,
03:11 and that was the most recent fight against Booker.
03:14 - And Booker, who's not really known as a puncher,
03:16 but he is a southpaw, but they also fought at 154,
03:19 and this is a middleweight fight.

04:57 He's got to find his patience in this fight with Aduku,

05:05 you beat them with the basics, the fundamentals.
05:06 You know, you try to land those complicated shots
05:08 with lead uppercuts, those leaping left hooks.
05:10 You got the athleticism to land it on most guys,

06:37 He's more so he's made himself more complicated
06:39 than anything else, and now that complication
06:41 is starting to be figured out by Valsaint,

06:58 his head, he leads with his head a lot,
07:00 so he's got to be concerned with a guy like that.
07:02 You got to use your jab, 'cause if they're gonna leave
07:03 with that head, you want to stop their full momentum.
07:06 - And now Valsaint turns southpaw,

09:47 - But bodyguards.
09:50 - I was saying again, now simplifying the shots.

09:55 - Yeah, just try to set up-- - Body shot again.
09:58 - Duku a little bit reactive there on the inside.
10:00 I think he's trying to make it physical,
10:02 try to make Valsain at least a little bit uncomfortable,
10:04 'cause he has not been able to do much of that
10:06 in the fight so far.

10:49 against me first."
10:51 - Tell you what he just did,
10:52 he just went for the head on Duku.
10:56 - Yeah, he found early on that Duku's awkward movements
10:58 were making it hard to hit him to the head,
11:00 so he started targeting the body,
11:01 put him down last round.
11:02 Now you see him going back to the body again
11:05 with a delayed reaction.
11:06 Yep.
11:07 [crowd shouting]
11:10 - And again, speed will do that.
11:12 You know, that tough speed, the time.
11:15 You start worrying about your reflexes to the head,
11:18 and you forget to protect the body,
11:19 and you can't get that kind of speed.
11:22 [bell dings]
11:23 [crowd shouting]
11:28 - Been down twice with those body shots.
11:31 [crowd shouting]
11:48 - And that second knockdown there
11:51 is another delayed reaction shot
11:52 to that left hook to the liver.
11:54 Duku took a few steps back,
11:57 and it was kind of a grazing shot.
11:59 It hit the liver and kind of slid off the back there,
12:01 but it was enough to put Duku down again.
12:04 - I've been hurt to the body with grazing shots.
12:05 Sometimes they graze you in a way
12:06 where it feels like a knife cut through you.
12:08 - And you get that strafing shot.

14:07 but liver was the main course tonight.
14:09 [laughter]
14:11 [crowd chatter]
14:14 - Obviously, Val Saint, like you said, champ,
14:16 just keeping it simple,
14:18 because the awkwardness of Aduku
14:20 made it head hard to find,
14:22 but as the rounds wore on,
14:25 and Val Saint started to pick him apart
14:27 and find that body, found that weakness there
14:29 in round number two, stuck to it,
14:31 ended up scoring three knockdowns to the body,
14:33 the third one being enough for the referee
14:36 to call off the bout with no argument from Aduku.
14:41 - And even on his way in, guys,
14:42 he throws in those simple little feints.
14:45 - I was just gonna say that, Goldie.
14:46 Right there, you see the little touches to the top.
14:48 Those little touch jabs to the top
14:50 made Aduku raise his arms up high,
14:52 and then Val Saint had the presence of mind.
14:54 After those touches, see if anything opened up.
14:56 He wasn't really trying to hurt Aduku
14:57 with those little touches.
14:59 He was gonna see if anything opened up.
15:00 Maybe it's gonna open up, maybe it's not.
15:01 As soon as Aduku raised his arms,
15:03 he noticed, Val Saint noticed,
15:04 had the presence of mind to notice it,
15:06 and came back around with a vicious left hook to the body.
15:09 - Very athletic move there from Val Saint.
15:10 Triple left hand finishing to the body.
15:13 - And also, it's a patient move there,
15:15 because as you're flicking it,
15:17 you're not putting too much power on it,
15:18 'cause you don't want him to go away from you.
15:19 So you're kind of flicking it athletically,

15:24 It's a set-up move, but it needs patience,
